Well, I don't have a Texan, but I do have a Cothran .308 with a 26" TJ barrel. I normally shoot Pistol slugs from it that I cast myself and size to .309". A 120 grain Lyman 311576 makes around 170fpe. It is quite accurate and hits HARD.

Perusing the NOE site recently, I spotted a 308 cal slug that they originally made for Quakenbush. It weighs in at 135 grains and is a bit more up to date with a boat tail. So I ordered a 5 cavity mould. I'll let you know how it turns out. If it works out, perhaps I could send you some.

Someday I really need to get a Texan...just can't believe they get so much more power than my guns do.
