30m prone TR77 NPS latest results

I have a TR77 springer that my wife got me after losing a Crosman pistol in Hurricane Sandy. (Nice upgrade, huh?!) I shoot upstate NY at my friend's house since down here on Long Island the SWAT team would show up if I brought it outside. We never actually measured the distance, but we were plinking and breaking pottery at about 50yds. What a great gun. The spring went after about a year and a half in the cold weather, though. I had gotten a nicer scope for it and moved it to a different gun after the spring went. I actually took the TR77 out a few weeks ago when we had a nice warm spell and shot at 10 meters with no scope. I was able to get quarter-sized groupings without scope, and there's no sights on the thing! It has lost a lot of it's power, but I was amazed at how accurate and true that thing shoots, still... Thinking of getting the NPS, since mostly upstate we end up shooting in cooler weather.

cheers mate, it is currently doing very well for sure, is quite difficult to hold it exactly same shot to shot when standing, I am sure I would get better results from a bench. Keen to see how the Dampa mount performs, the chinese one I am currently using is doing the job but does slide on the rifle, it doesn't require re-zeroing tho when I loosen it and move it forward which is good

finally had some luck shooting at an upward angle, has been the bane of my existence for so long, but took some shots to see what the rifle was actually doing and finally bagged a minor bird up in a tree, the Dampa mount is working well, scope does not creep in it and the mount does not move with the stopper pin so I seem to finally have a good combo for it, would like a bit more magnification but it is what it is

I had a 27 fpe .20 cal Beeman Crow Magnum/ Theoben Eliminator original gas strut break barrel for which the Dampa Mounts were designed. It was deadly accurate when the sight system held together. .
It destroyed two sets of the rubber Dampa Mount inserts. Lewis Reinhold was then able to obtain replacements. Perhaps you may think of getting some replacements in case your rifle may do the same.
It also destroyed two medium priced $300+ dollar scopes before Lewis sent me a Leupold 4-12 Vari X scope which has now been passed on to a number of other rifles withput incident. Lewis carried the tab all the way. Unfortunately he retired his business in air rifles. Not sure where you can get anything approaching Lewis' service now.
Where are you in OZ? I am in Wollongong. ... Best regards, Harry.

"AUS_TR77NPS"nice one, my hot tip is get the same scope/mount combo I did, these things eat scopes and mounts, I have tried the BKL with no success, this current combo is perfect, also mine is perfect with the JSB 8.44 grain exacts
I cant seem to find this Optisan Cobra scope on Amazon here in USA. I did find the one piece Dampa mount you speak highly of.

yeah ok amazon has been a bit hit and miss for me when I was originally looking for scopes, I believe the 'hammers' scopes are good from my research, I could not find one to purchase here in aus. The Dampa mount does come with a stop pin tho I was not able to put it in the hole inside the mount and fit to the rifle so I just have it in the hole and the mount slid up against it, does the job fine. I would buy a pellet sample box to try as mine was very choosy with pellets until I tried the JSB, the 8.44 being the pick and consistently accurate
