34mm entry level scopes worth it?

I'm in my 14 week of 10 waiting for my arken ep4 6x24x50 I will let you know how it goes as soon they arrive, it supposed to be mailed this month.

I received this one the other day and boy what a BIG BIG BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

WHAT A CRAPPY $400 34MM SCOPE!

It's only good and clear until around 18x-19x max and it's a 30x scope! It's just as bad as the MTC VIPER PRO that can't focus clear past 20x being also a 30x scope!

Heres what I bought that was a MAJOR MAJOR bummer for me...

Better off buying this $999.99 JAPAN 10 yard focus 5-25x50 for $224 from SUPCASE over on EBay with free shipping. Offer him $175 he may counter $185 or $200. It is damn clear! Don't offer to buy his $455 listing it's the same scope! Ask how I know!

THIS ONE will be very very very hard to beat at any price with a 10 yard focus made in JAPAN that normally sells for $999.99. If you like the SWFA SS then this one is the cherry on top of the ice cream with a much better eyebox and higher magnification in a SFP Mildot. Many of the best Japanese scopes are SFP BTW. This BARRA seems better than the 25 yard focus Bushnell TAC 4.5-30x50 at least clearer when compared side by side at full magnification.

Buy it then don't like it? Sell it on Craigslist for possibly even more than what you paid. Its a $999.99 scope you paid only $200 or less for!

My brother has this Barra scope and he paid on Amazon over 1000$ and it is better than his 1000$ Vortex Viper Gen 2 PST. I am going to order from EBay my brother will be REALLY upset if I can buy it for only 224$ including shipping. It looked extremely sharp well defined bright and clear image quality I have never seen a scope as clear and I would never be able to afford a 1000$ scope. It looked like it was as nice as his expensive Leopold that cost double the price.

Thanks that looks like a great one too. I was tempted but thought I'd wait until they are in stock. My SH4 took about 3 months to get....

Are any of the other barra scopes any good or just that specific model?

The Chinese made Barra H30 4-16x50 are very nice too and super clear and bright all the way to max 16x. I won't recommend any scope that's not clear All the way at maximum zoom power. 

I can't and wont comment on the other Barra scopes since I haven't looked through any others aside from the Japan made 5-25x50 HERO FT and the Chinese made H30 4-16x50 and I'm not sponsored by anyone to do so nor receive free scopes to review and resell.

Just because one or two are fantastic that doesn't necessarily mean ALL OF THAT BRAND AND MODEL SERIES OF THAT PARTICULAR SCOPE ARE GOOD. I really got burnt buying a Discovery 34mm HD 5-30x56 ASSuming it would be nice as my much cheaper 30mm HD 4-20x50 (FANTASTIC BTW!!!) and boy was I WRONG!!! THE 34MM HD IS A REAL POS!!! CANT EVEN GET A DECENT CLEAR PICTURE PAST 20X AND ITS A 30X SCOPE!!! JUST LIKE THE $649 MTC VIPER PRO!!!

Thanks Odoyle. The FT 5-25 was awesome. I havent tried the H30 4-16 yet, but I picked up a H30 3-9 on ebay from ramblinwreck76 and am super happy with its. It's not the best scope ever, but he's selling for $69 obo. I picked one up for $50 bucks. It's illuminated and focuses down to 10 yards (on ebay it says its 100 yard fixed).

That sounds like a good deal. I may have to try one. Bummer I just bought a NON-ILLUMINATED Bushnell AR 3-9x with 10 yard focus enroute and now wished it had illumination that can be really handy! I have the 2-7x version and it's great but not cheap for what it is and even the 3-9x I just bought wasn't cheap either. I Must be losing it!!!
