So, today I can confirm that my Nova Liberty is in fact leaking. It’s losing about 100 psi a day. I’m sure that this will get progressively worse, so I’ve decided to ask ATI for a refund. I’m going to take that money + $190 and get a new PCP. I have my eyes on a few old Daystates but just in case I would like to know what are the other $430 PCP options out there (new or used).
My guidelines (for the stock version without any modifications):
- First of all, accurate. It must shot at least sub .6” groups at 45 yards with the right pellets (preferably cheap pellets like crossman premiere 14.3g), and it has to group under an 1” at 75 yards
- Quiet, though it doesn’t have to be whisper quiet or anything. If it’s like the Liberty I have no problem.
- Power should come in at 28-35ft lbs, but I’m not saying this is a must.
- Shot count has to be above 40 shots (stock) and if it’s not regulated it has to have at least 30 consistent shots (at 80 yards consistent)
- It has to be reliable and quality. I want a rifle that will not break on me like this Liberty did. I really stress on this as I have enough of having to deal with issues
- I don’t care for cocking system, but side-lever actions are preferred
- It has to be good at shooting offhand (It can’t weigh more than 8lbs unscoped but also has to weigh more than 5 lbs)
- I would like this gun to have a wooden stock (and a good one!).
- It has to be .22 cal.
I won’t hunt with this gun (I’m not a hunter) and will use it for “precise target work“ (mostly — you can’t shoot airguns and not plink a bit!).
Thanks,
AK
