droop mount have been the go to mount for years
they used to have TO1 and TO5 i believe and that had a piece that dropped down in front of the dovetail so it could never move back
the TO6 mount does not have that and you can move it back as needed
there is nothing wrong with the RWS mount but there is nothing wrong with adding rings that you what either
there is more than one way to mount a scope to a Diana 48-52-54
now on the stock i have a BEC Eurolux Air Thunder rifle model 21 and it is a copy of the 48 and the stock is not even close to the same but saying that it doesn't mean other model 21's would not work, i can only compare what i have
i have a voodoo tactical cheek riser and i has a lot of option to it and they can be removed it could work i can try to mount it on a 48 stock and see for you

What is the reason for the adaptor and weaver rings instead of the RWS Locdown mount? To me it just looks like another possible failure point.
too much droop with anything over 8.7gr pellets using a my 6-18x44 vortex scope.
i changed scope to a Hawk 3-9x40, no difference in verticle adjustments.
and i do not like to be past 80% of adjustments anyway.

If you want the Diana ZR mount it’s worth the money to get the Accurized version from Hector. I have two and both have been flawless. Comes with instructions on how to mount and on how to re-tune if that’s ever not the case. The HPM are model specific. He makes one for the 48/52 but it’s a custom order.

there is a You tube on how to accurize the diana mount , very small allen set screws and a drill bit/ thread tap
