The Mav is resting @ FX waiting on the boat from Sweden. I jest, of course. Talked to tech today. Promising to get on it as soon as part of arrive. Cocking rod guide broken along with hammer spring. Only 2nd one he's seen break.
So I got a real gun. Kelly @ Krazy Kool set me up with a 25 limited. Whata gun!
Light enough to walk & stalk.
286 yds @ a 3" spinner. Been watching them forever but wanted the glitches out of them. This is a slug gun.254 diameter.
Of course a lot more dependable @ 100. All day bangers.

Do I want to ask how you accomplished breaking a spring and the rod? My Pre-Prel-loved Maverick .25/Sniper was hosed by someone who was totally clueless on what not to do with it, like, don't pull the trigger with the cocking handle back, over and over and over, even broke the main block, trashed the hammer, the list is quite long. Now that I got all of the parts and it's back together, thanks FX for the parts, and help from forum members, it's a .22 Compact tack driver.

Yeah, how does that happen? That would be like snapping off a piece of picatinny rail off of a scope mount

No idea! Got stubborn to load a round. Couldn't see what was wrong. Eventually SHAZAM.
Lubrication probably, negligence on my part not figuring it out. The repair outcome would be the same. He said he had seen 1 other. There was not physical abuse like dropping .. FX says they'll fix it.
There's a lot of leverage on that rod. As far as picatiny rails, the short rail in front of the trigger on my impact (original) snapped off one day while shooting. I'm out and about with my stuff and the country side is a tough terrain.

Sound like a double load, i've done it before. I keep a Delrin rod just for that occasion I do something really dumb. Gets even more interesting when you have a pellet stuck half way, only way out of that is to pull the barrel. I can't imagine a way to break a spring.

Do you seat your slugs/pellets? Or just push them in with your fingers? One of 2 reasons I haven’t purchased one yet is because I was told you have to seat every pellet.
Sorry, didn't see your post. Use a 254 slug and just push it in with your thumb. I actually use a golf Tee to save me thumb @ times. As long as you can feel cylinder outside of slug. You rotate the cylinder after loading to ensure your slug or pellet is deep enough.pellets just fall in. The cylinder cover keeps them in place. You get used to it very quickly. The MOST IMPORTANT action is, after rotating cylinder @ least 1 revolution to check for binding, to LOWER THE LOCKING BAR. watch the videos. This NOT a 1st gun for anyone!,
