The wind picked up and was 5 mph coming to 7 mph mostly from 7 o'clock to 9 o'clock. I didn't expect to do better (I didn't) but was curious. I shot 3 cards with the best being a 32. I mapped those 12 shots onto a bull. The impact of the wind was obvious. The group was 1.82" wide and .61" high.

I'm always happy with under 2" groups at 50 yds. from a springer even in still air. I need to get some slugs to try, I would assume they buck wind better than the JSB's?

I put a scope on my HW 77 just for this challenge, probably take it back off I love Shooting iron’s on that gun. Lost count on target number 10, I’ll take the lowest four.

The only slugs that have worked with my TX200 is the Zan 1.2 grain. I have tried similar weight Griffe and Knockout with no luck. 13.? Zan did not work either.
The Zan 10.2 grian on a calm day are at abot 3" at 100 yards. AA Field Heavy run about 4". For me as the operator anyway.

I have some concerns about targets 5 & 7 though, they seem to be just a little outside the lines. I don't mean to be picky, but I would like to be as concise as possible on the higher scoring cards. Would it be acceptable to you if I scored this as a 36 on the board?

Those are the ones that I can only find from the manufacturer website, seems like no state side vendors. Although I am using a different gun so I may still try the knockouts.

I plugged them with a .177 pellet and the pellet skirt touched the line. That’s a commonly accepted way of scoring targets. If that’s not ok here I’ll accept it

OK we can count them if they touched, I'll post it up shortly. Target 10 both hit 4 so that doesn't change the score but it does change the chances, after this one I can no longer count cards with too many holes.

I’m okay with you throwing that target out I’ll shoot it again,I plan on doing better. It has too many holes I shouldn’t have ever submitted it.

I think it would work best if we remain using the pellet hole itself. I do understand that some of the pointed pellets don’t make a very good hole but usually there is a led ring on the paper which can show the original hole. I think sticking with that system is going to be the best for scoring off of photos.
I should rescind what I said regarding skirts and just keep it to the original conditions (card in question was not counted as is), so from here on let’s stick with the paper hole for consistency.

I arrived at the range at sunrise. No wind to slight breeze. It was about 75°F with a light mist in the air.
Goal: Shoot card with no zero bulls. I shot 2 of 5 cards with no 0's.
I was set up with Zan 10 grain so started there. I shot 3 cards.
I then switched to AA 8.4 with 4.52 head. These weighted 8.5 grains on my scale. I had sorted rounding to .1 [+/- .005 gram scale]. I shot 2 cards.
Scores were (best to worst):
AA 8.4. - 39
Zan 10.3 - 34
Zan 10.3 - 30
AA 8.4 - 29
Zan 10.3 - 28
Pictures with pellets inserted for clarity. I scored bull 4 a 3 as it seemed hard to justify otherwise.

Hello again,
Not a problem with me I just wanted to be sure so I did not score wrong. I "scan" my cards with a piece of red cardboard on the back side so the holes show up a bit better, however some times a hole is not real clean. Here is a card that I just shot this morning and it might have to be enlarged to clearly see a couple of the "5's".

My scores over 11 cards has been
39, 34, 34, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28, 26, 26
The median is 30 with an average of 30.5. The standard deviation is 4 with a skew of 0.83 (score is more likely to be above the mean than below.)
So while I am bettering my score it seems I will not continue to do so consistently. I am close to peaking it seems. However, I remain optimistic!

Conditions were perfect this morning I shot the HW 77 and the HW 80. This is the best I’ve shot with the 80. so on the HW 77 target number two and number nine I score a four and five but you can clearly see paper between the hole and the line. If you zoom in you can see a grease ring touching the line.

Hello Drpietrzak,
Don't stop working on improving your skills. I am attaching a pdf copy of a MOA paper Target that I designed for shooting at 50-yards. Print out some of these to shoot at before shooting a competition target. I shot two of these this morning before I started shooting various competition targets. Hope this will help some. Please note that I have a "Scale" in the upper left corner so you can confirm the correct size on a printout.
