580cc buddy bottle for daystate redwolf

I got mine from AOA. You have to bleed the air out completely then the bottle just unscrews. I bled mine by unscrewing the fill port very slowly till air starts to come out and wait for it to empty. If you go too far unscrewing the fill port, you'll damage the dowty washer that seals it and have to replace it. Not sure of the price or availability on the bottles right now. If you manage to get one, buy a dowty washer as well just to be sure.

thanks harrymoreland, I haven't contacted daystate yet as they are currently closed due to covid 19, I have thought that having a 580 cc bottle would make the rifle a bit front heavy but as I am a disabled shooter and do most of my shooting sat down with the redwolf in a wheelchair either using a bipod or a primos trigger stick or using a shooting table.

from what I can gather , the bottle on my redwolf is a 480cc , I would like to put a 580cc on there, with reference to your post with the 2L carbon fibre bottle , I believe the width of 96mm would be to wide as opposed to the factory fitted bottle of 61mm , you might run into problems with the stock not fitting

Yes I noticed the 90 vs 60ish mm size differences, maybe some body with skills can create a bottle adapter "drop down" and a bipod drop down rail so these can be fitted to a FX Impact

I can see how they could be made front heavy daystates are pretty well balanced from the factory. wouldn't matter to most people because many shoot supported anyway.

Hi Paul. That is an fx smooth twist barrel/ slug liner. You won’t have to modify anything to fit the 580cc bottle. The outside diameter is identical so it will clear your original Daystate barrel and shroud.
All you’ll need to do is empty the gun of air, screw off your 480cc bottle, screw on the new 580cc bottle and refill with air. That simple. 😊

Thats great news , do i need any special tools to unscrew the bottle from the action? I understand from bobs post that you bleed the air out of the bottle by unscrewing the fill valve slightly.

But this post just got really interesting , the fx smooth twist barrel/ slug liner , did you simply just fit that to your redwolf or did it require modifications?
