Events 60 shot match at DIFTA MD Saturday July 6

A 60 shot match will be held at DIFTA, IWLAWAC chapter, 26430 Mullinix Mill Road, Mt Airy MD 21771 on Saturday July 6.

The course is 10 lanes, with one kneeling and one offhand lane, with three targets per lane shot twice. The Troyer value for the course is 29.58 with seven targets > 40T, six targets with 0.375”or 0.5” kill zones and nine targets set out at >= 40 yards.

WE NEED A FEW HELPERS AT 8:30 AM TO SET OUT STRINGS. The sight in range will be open from 9:00 – 9:50. Mandatory shooters and safety meeting and squad assignments at 9:50. Match starts at 10:00 am sharp.

Match fees are $10 for IWLAWAC members and $15 for guests. We need a minimum of 4 shooters to run the match, SO PLEASE SIGNUP IN ADVANCE. If we don’t reach a quorum by 10:00 pm on Thursday 7/4 we will post a cancellation notice that evening.

If the max temperature forecast exceeds 90°F for the match day we will cancel. Hopefully it will start to cool down.

I plan to attend if it it doesn't get cancelled. I should be able to get there a little early to help set up. Assume any cancellation will be posted here?
Is this course in the woods and best to wear long pants?
Looks like you have seasoned competition. First time FT for me, so looking forward to it.

Based on current weather report its almost certain the match will go ahead. I will post if this changes.
Yes - the course is in the woods and long pants + bug spray are a good idea, but some get by with shorts.

If this is your 1st time shooting FT you should have fun, and if you knock down 50% of the targets you will be doing very well.

Do you know what division you plan to shoot in, and the rules for ft/lbs, and scope magnification? Happy to advise if needed.

Thanks! I'm not even expecting 50%! I've done a little research and I'm setup for Hunter division. Only with a Notos for now. Running a Discoveryopt HT 16x scope (was impressed with it for the price). It might be a bit less than desired for range finding, but will find out about that. If I get into this I will probably consider selling my GK1 towards a better setup, but my skills can catch up to the Notos first.
