60 yard First time out with the Bobcat .30

I couldn't wait to get off of work today, as almost perfect conditions to sight in the Bcat. (80 degrees and just a slight wind. Here is my setup the scope is a Hawke endurance 30sf 4-16 ×50

It took about 2 mags to sight it in at 60 yards, mostly due to getting familiar with the gun. I did notice the the factory setting of the trigger seamed really lite compared to what I have shot before. After sighting gun in I tried my first 100 yard shot which was taken while kneeling using my shooting sticks. It wasn't the most stable hold but not bad results.

Orange circle is 3". The center shot is my 60 yard sight in and 100 yard shot is upper right about 1.25" from center inside orange circle.

I then stuck up a new 3" target sticker and refilled the gun to about 245 bar and shot my first 60 yard group. I am really impressed with this gun to say the least. I am sure I can due better once I upgrade my scope and get some more practice with the gun. The shot that landed far left and the one that landed low are errors on my part but even with that not a bad first grouping. The group consisted of 9 shots taking away the two error is 7 shots in the black diamond which is 1/2 " × 1/2".

Here are two more with the machinist ruler.

First is widest part of group including my bad shots.

next is the main group of 7 shots. I am very impressed.

It appears to be about 7/16 of inch Ctc.

I tried to mount my camera and do some shooting but the orion steady pix didn't like the bullpup very well and after messing around for awhile I gave up. I now have the eagle vision camera mount on order as of today, so hope to do video in future. I will probably hold off on the Groundhog hunt till I get some more trigger time and the new camera mount arrives. I did drive by my spot and saw about 5 big Groundhogs out just begging for me to stop, but I resisted.
Anyway LOVING the new gun!

Yea nice,
good god that will be some massive overkill on squirrels!

What pellets?

I need to bite the bullet and jump on the high dollar pcp wagon one of these days I guess. I usually find time to shoot in spring and fall/winter, and have alot of 90-125yd shots out to the barn available. I can imagine a nice FX or similar pcp would increase my starling death toll dramatically in the spring! I know with a cheap .22 Discovery starlings are screwed that land on the 75 yard pole (unless I move the turret and forget!). The 90yd shots (on elec wire to barn), 100yd at fence, and 125 on back fence are much, much harder / impossible. However I care nothing about starlings, So I will take any shot at them, even really poor ones!

Our barn swallow population has increased dramatically since we've moved here, I can only assume its somewhat due to my hatred for starlings.

Thought I put the pellets, thanks for noticing I hadn't. Pellets were 44.75 grain JSBs at 893 avg. velocity for just over 79 fpe. I can't wait to get my first squirrel with it to see what happens. I will post a video when I do. I debated on a .25 Vs .30, I finally just showed a few friends what I was looking at and told them to choose. They said I should just go for the .30, and I have been loving it. I was lucky enough to get a pretty good profit sharing bonus from the company I work for that covered the cost of the rifle, otherwise I would have been able to get it so soon if at all.
