$6k to Spend on Purchasing the Airgun of Your Dreams

I just got this Thomas FT sub 20 fpe in .177 on Saturday, the scope I've had for 1.5 years.

My old USFT has been such a great work horse for FT but my new Thomas I named "Purple Reign" certainly outclasses it in nearly every way. I love this new beauty!

Man 2 Thomas guns Steve?! Lucky man! Love that purple.

Quick question, I see you have your scope rings both on the front of the scope but looks to be plenty room to mount it on the rear as well. Curious as to the reason?

I am blessed for sure!!! Ha, I can afford these things because I live in a crappy old cabin and everything else is payed off. Well I tend to sell things I'm not satisfied with and use that money to get the next step up. Once my USFT sells those funds will go back in the bank = I gave myself a no interest loan, grin.

The rings placement is because the stock/LOP on SURELY where this scope usually lives is a tad long for me so to get the eye relief correct(short neck) I have to mount the scope way back. Too lazy to change the ring placement on Purple Reign for now - I'm not sure I will be keeping this scope on it right now and it'll probably be right back on SURELY next week anyway.

Headed to the Sonoran GP FT match in Phoenix in a few days and got Purple Reign just in time.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

If you had $5000-$6000 to put together the Airgun of your dreams, how would you spend it?
I'm just finishing up a 5-6k Airforce texan build. There's 7 stock parts left, including tiny stuff like the detent ball bearing. Almost everything is custom. If I have the barrel threaded and lapped, is it still stock? So maybe 6 stock pieces, and 100% of plastic is gone.

Well, to mix it up a bit:
How about:

$2.000 ▪ Night vision goggles (head mounted, Gen. 2): Bering Optics PVS-7BE

To look through a:
$160 ✅ ▪ Leupold Freedom Red Dot RDS, with exposed elevation turret

Mounted on a:
$1.200 ▪ Huben GK1 pistol
(steve-I and other handgun purists, no offense)

Hushed with a:
$100 ▪ Custom silencer designed by subscriber, printed by one of his trusted 3D printer crew members

Ooops!!
I'm only half way there..... 🤦🏻‍♂️
Don't judge me.
Didn't even get to $4.000 of the required $6.000.
And I already have the RDS red dot. Bought in eager anticipation before the pistol was even on the market. How is that for commitment?!
(Or shopping addiction, or rabbit hole accident, or plain and simple stupidity, whatever you like.)

Please, don't judge me for not getting up to $6K.
I could try again to get up to the required dollar amount.
But I really like the above setup to go rat shooting in the local chicken farms.... Shooting gallery style....

Matthias

PS: Upon second thoughts, and some careful self-critical introspection, and discussing this purchase with my wife — I feel like $3.500 is a wise investment and an appropriate amount to spend on somebody else's rats and the shooting thereof.
(OK, I fibbed on the discussion with my wife. She'd send me right back to the psych ward.)

How many dollars would you pay for making holes on a sheet of paper that will become useless? ..... Answer: Zero !!!

How many dollars would you pay for getting meat or chicken that will be more expensive and that will have less quality of the one you can buy at the supermarket?..... Answer: Zero !!!

How many dollars would you pay for shooting a pest you rather don't eat because you can get ill?..... Answer: Zero !!!

......

The point is that shooting with PCP'S is not only what you will obtain phisically after the shot. Shooting PCP's is a challenge and a therapy.... Shooting PCP'S is a pleasure....

Spending money on your mental health is an investment that will make other's to be easier to coexist with you.

How much can you spend in this hobbies?..... Depends on each one budget that is normally determine by other responsibilities according with age and family situation.

So ...... Do not feel bad if in this moment there's no budget for your dreams rifle....... And do not feel bad if you have the chance to buy it...... Enjoy the moment !!
