As some folks do not post on the Internet at all a cut & paste is the best I could do. (and Jeff, outstanding score friend).
INVICTA FTC JULYMATCH
In the midst of a near record heat wave, we put on our July match – the good news is that in the woods the temperature was manageable, and the eight shooters that made it out had a great time, due in no small part to Brad Troyer. He came out to the range the previous Saturday and gave the course a very nice make over all by himself. He said he was inspired by reading about the “extreme uphill shots” at the European Championships, in addition to moving target blocks and cutting back foliage he added three tree targets, one was quite challenging, the others made a refreshing change to the kneeling and long range lanes. He also found an upended tree stump that had been rotting out for a while, and cut a hole in the middle, and set a target behind it so you have to shoot through it to take down the target – it took me back thirty years to a side event called a dump shoot at Iceni marksman club in England, that alone was worth going to the match, many thanks Brad! Oh and using his TX 200, he was just one point off the top score!!
The heat still caused a bunch of us, well it could have been just me, from having some severe brain farts, either way, the majority of scores were lower than normal, even Harold Rushton had some issues, he was shooting very well up until his last lane, were he missed three shots, in effect doubling his misses - of course he still managed to win the match, way to go Harold, oh, and good luck in two weeks at the Worlds!
