HW/Weihrauch 7.6 Foot Pounds of Fury

There's always something to hitting something you have no business hitting.
I think thats one of the biggest appeals to springers in general for me. When you consider how they actually work you really shouldn't be able to hit much more than the broadside of a barn with one. And yet here you are slapping a can at 100 with one.

What do you mean? A heavy piston flying forward under ridiculously high spring pressure and the rifle double recoiling before the pellet leaves the barrel…what’s could go wrong?

Stock screws snug? ✔
Light grip? ✔
Consistent pull? ✔
Proper cheek weld? ❌

One too many beard hairs grazed the comb at a 37° angle. How dare you. Accept your ruined group and do better.
May I be a total Richard here? Cheek welds are not for springers. We've all heard of springer hold sensitivity. Keep yir darn face off the gun. The less points of contacts the less push you have on the gun when the spring goes boingggg! . H'mmm? Artillery hold, ever hear of it? My 20 cal 98 always falls behind my 20 cal R9. I'll have to drop the sexy adjustable 98 comb and see if it evens things out.

"Cheek weld" in the broadest sense of the term of course. I like to just feel my beard slightly compress from pressure. That gives me a consistent point of contact/placement without actually making real contact.

I'm not making accusations here there's a big difference between our cheek weld and a planted face on a powder burner. Obviously you know what you're doing. I'm trying to get people away from it traditional face plant on a stock. There's alot of new PB people here.

You were right to correct the terminology. We need our own word for it. Cheek gap?

You gotta come visit. We'll have a blast. My neighbor set a milk jug at 435 yards for the wife and I to shoot. She's 0 for 5 and I'm 0 for 6 so it may still be here when you get here. Lol

Boy I was jealous of Sean's shooting range and then I get a load at Bayman's.
Jesus, I can't imagine having a lookout like that over a river from mountain side --> Not to mention a 453 yard range  .
He hit the JackPot in more ways than one ................

I going back to my 13yd Crawlspace:cautious:.

Not to rub it in but there's over 700 yards available on that hill. Since we haven't hit it at 435 we'll worry about that later.

This one is for you Ron. HW30 at 30, 50, 60, and 75 yards. JSB 7.87’s @ 660fps. Wasn’t expecting anything spectacular with a 13mph headwind but was surprised with the 30 yard groups. Went 10 for 10 at 50 and 60 on the 3 1/2” spinners, and 8 for 10 on the 4” plate at 75.
