Tuning :)

I see one problem using that cutter, enlarges the entire hole and the edge comes very close to the oring on the brass piece. Unless FX or Huma moved that oring groove out from there backward towards the probe...I did my mod back 5 months ago I am not aware of a recent change.

I had a carbide ball or bullnose cutter OD 6.8 mm (shank is 3mm or 1/8 a dremel size). The OD fits nicely inside the M8 threaded hole.

The shank allows about 1.5 mm each side Left/Right offset inside the threaded hole comfortably. The end result is a slot, let say 7x9.8 mm. The slot direction is perpendicular to the barrel hole axis.

That certainly is good "out of the box" thinking for access. A question for the Impact owners for a non-owner who really plans to get a Mk3. Is there a gain from this modification with the stock TP in the brass piece or does it also have to be modified even more to see gain? Seems there has to be a limiting factor in the air flow chain somewhere. I would assume that this port was the limiting factor to see gain from enlarging it.

I have the Ernest Rowe version with the dual ports and pin probe on my MK2. I seen a big jump in speed, but you also will need to retune. you can't just put it in and expect all to be happy. I think that is why some see significant FPS loss. it flows way faster and without retuning you'll see a loss.

I currently have mine set at 125ish bar on the regulator. slinging 37 gr NOE .249-39-rf slugs at 992 FPS for about 70 FPE at the muzzle. About 52 shots per fill on a 480cc bottle. using 700mm superior heavy liner.
