A Early morning Rabbit Shoot

Hi Guys, , knowing the owner of a very local shoot of mine
was away on two weeks holidays, and with an open invitation to visit anytime,
i decided on an early trip out this morning, so up at 04-00hrs a quick coffee
and gather of gear , airgun today is my HW100 kt.177 cal ,Old Faithful
is her nickname owned this airgun for many years , any way
arrived at the shoot just after 04-45 hrs, its a bungalow set in
large gardens with a rabbit / Tree rat problem, , gear read for action
i crept slowly around the side of the bungalow to find x3 rabbits feeding on the nearest lawn,
so primos sticks ready i lined up a rabbit at about 30ydsand dropped it with a side on
headshot. the other two rabbits ran for cover into the flower beds but one hesitated at the edge looked
back only to get a 8.4grn pellet between its eyes dropping it dead, they were the only rabbits that
were around , so i moved around to a small copse of trees which has a small bird table close
by which atracts the tree rats, i set up under the trees with camping stool, primos sticks,
i had sprinkled some loose peanuts on the bird table as i always carry in my backpack
a small packet, and settled down for some breakfast diners, there is in this small copse
of trees a quite large drey so i knew i should get some diners ,
quite a few song birds dining so thats a good sign after a wait of 30 mins,
i heard movement and saw a tree rat climbing up onto the bird table,
i let it settle and start its breakfast before dropping it dead with side on head shot
that pole-axed it onto the ground, i managed to get x2 more tree rats before home for
breakfast so a total of x5 vermin, though i had hoped for a few more rabbits,
but we must be thankful for small mercies.!!
