A fan of the ‘Dan

1972 (first year with SN#’s) Blue Streak. Previous owner refinished the stock and had the rifle Steroided by MAC 1 ten years ago. Tim McMurray also drilled and tapped holes for a Williams peep sight and worked on the trigger.

Before shooting the group I cleaned the barrel by shooting 3 Q-Tip heads, one at a time, moistened with denatured alcohol followed by one dry Q-Tip head. After this, I fired 3 pellets to season the barrel. 6 pumps, shot from seated at 22 yds over the arm using JSB Heavy 15.89 gr.

Dark circle centered in aperture, 6 o’clock hold w/ top of front sight blade under the red bull.

I have one too. Its a pre serial number 72 that I bought new. I had to put it on layaway. Lol
I refinished the stock in the early eighties, with a TruOil finish, and mounted the Williams peep sight myself. At that time I also drilled and tapped the trigger guard to carry my extra irises. I added a Bemeen trigger shoe, and rigged a front sight hood. I damaged the front sight mounting the hood on it, so I had Mac1 do a Steroid upgrade, and change out that sight, and recrown the barrel. The sight he used was from a fifties model, so the front sight no longer matches the year model.

Yours has serial numbers?
I have two 72's my original 72 pre serial number that has the production date stamped in the breach. They wrote the prduction dates backwards. The prduction dates were dropped after a few months and sereal numbers started in 72. My 72 Silverstreak has a low serial number being in the first 1200 guns.Screenshot_20230607_144821_Gallery.jpg

I bet you have some stories with that rifle. Steroided a plus, and the mods make it uniquely yours.
