A Gamo afternoon

Hello everyone Richfromohio here, just thought someone might find this interesting. I got out my Gamo Hunter 1250 ( made in England) .177 caliber and decided to see how the Raptors, Rockets, and Red Fire pellets would perform. Well I got out the chrony and gathered up some cans filled them with water. This Hunter 1250 has taken down squirrels, ground hogs and many other pests with one shot. Most of these shots were taken at 50 yards or less. I tuned this gun ( new piston seal and relube),replaced the spring with a low powered gas ram because it's a .177 caliber. This gun is very accurate and has a low recoil. I also worked on the trigger and made that have a lower pull weight also polished contact points. Here are some pictures that you guys can look at it sure says more than I can.

. I really enjoy working on these magnum springers and making them a pleasure to shoot. If anyone has any Hatsan's or Gamo's that need a little TLC let me know. I will do my best to try and talk you through as much as possible? Lett me know if I gave you guys enough information.

Very nice looking gun. The 1250 and Extreme are on my to buy list. I spent the past two days they g to break in new springs on my wife’s hunter elite and my CFR. The elite is surprisingly accurate but I know I’m goi g to have to start all over again and install a light spring for her

accurate. I’ll post results in a couple months when I’m all done.

I guess the 1250 has a different trigger then the other hunter models... I polished the hunter elites sears and installed a GRT-III and the trigger is LIGHT!

I have a Gamo Stutzen or 2. Such a PIA to cock and load. I plan to cut the spring down so you don't have to go through the odd extendo-handle exercise. Less power should do this gun a favor anyway.

I can't delete italics. It's my laptop. Anyhow.

I don't like the popup loading tap either . The rotating tap is so much better. Like on my BSA RB2 Stutzen and the Gamo CFX

Why did they use the stamped steel trigger on these? I added a Gold Trigger but you can't return it to first stage after taking it up. 😝 It also wiggles side to side too much. Maybe I can shim that. Took a little fiddling to find the sweet spot when I adjusted the new trigger. It's pretty decent now.

This gun is like a gold plated shovel with a silk rope handle. But I do like looking at that wench!

Old thread ... But would like to add that I like my Gamo 1250 IGT magnum ("Grizzly Hunter") a lot. I have it in .22 and love that nicely balanced beech stock. The accuracy and power are there. Cocking is of course heavier than on a lower-power gun, but the moderator gives a good grip.

My trigger is the standard Gamo custom action trigger (cat) in polymer. It was heavy at first but became a sweeeet two-stage after I swapped out the m2.5 stock set screw by a longer one.

Someone mentioned a Chinese break barrel in this thread. I came across an Artemis SPA 125O GS (grand slam) with a gas ram spring. It seems to be a high power beast of a gun with a nice wood stock and a gold plated trigger. Any experience/views ?
