Got home from Oklahoma City this morning, an awesome city, at 1:00 am after Southwest Air blessed us with delays coming and going.

Had enough in my batteries to make a peanut butter bait plate, get fresh batteries for the doorbell camera, and get the backyard ready for guests.

The little fella gave me a shot at 5:00am. Taipan Veteran Long .25 with Predator Poly Mags.

Couple months ago I got one of those 'Lake Steelies' on a KastMaster 'Rainbow' with a skinny pink worm, we were both shocked.

Like I said... I WAS SHOCKED. We had fished this lake for stocked rainbows a lot and knew the Steelies were there but never caught site of one.

in 7 trips and we'd hooked 450 legal trout and the lunker was icing on the cake.

Here's the lure that I managed to put in front of the steely, it's 1/8oz I think. I always cut off the factory-provided treble and put on a Gamakatsu Siwash 8 or 10 hook.

The steely was pretty... all 'rainbowed out' from the spawn and I didn't want the meat so I let it go.
