Theoben A Lazy Day Out With the Theobens

It was too hot and sticky for the outdoor range today but I wanted to play with the girls. I called up Ed and we decided some indoor bench in the AC was in order.

Top to bottom:
Theoben Evolution .22
Beeman Crow Magnum .20
Theoben Sirocco .177

They all shot great except for the Crow Mag because my dumb*** grabbed 13gr .22 pellets instead of 13gr .20 from off the shelf. With all the attention to detail Theoben put into their products youd think the end user could at least read the tin before setting off for the club.

I started the day with the Evolution. This is my favorite. It sounds absolutely amazing, is super easy to cock, and the shot cycle is gentle as could be despite being 13ftlbs.

Next up was the Sirocco. I forget where I have this one set but I believe somewhere around 13.5ftlbs if memory serves. She's snappy but still shoots great. I love the lines in the wood too. There's just something about shooting pretty guns that just adds to the experience.

I'm still a little disappointed that I didn't get to play with the Crow Mag. Of the bunch it is easily the most accurate despite putting out 24ftlbs with the JSB 13.4gr pellets. My arm would have been sore after 30+ shots at the 25m bench targets but it would have been worth it. Next time!

Nice
I'd rather shoot the Sirocco trigger than the Evolution trigger any day. The Evo first stage spring is just wrong. Might SEEM better if I increase the second stage tension. I plan to make up a different first stage spring for my Evolution. Wrap up some music wire and stress relieve it. Try that.
Life takes over and I don't have time for them. A lot of work family responsibility.
Trout and smallmouth bass fishing has been entertaining lately. Hard to pass up the great smallmouth fishing when I can wade the Susquehanna river a few hours Sunday evening. Right out from Harrisburg. North Front street. Or trout in Stony creek in Stony valley. Dauphin Co. 25,000 acres state game lands.

Gorgeous rifles, especially the .20. One day maybe...lol

Something about that stock raises my heart rate a bit too. It's a big gun by all means but she's earned that right. The thing shoots like a laser and hits exactly where you're aiming like a hammer.

...Gee Whizz, you folks have wonderful places to use your AG..beautiful airguns in beautiful venue!

Thank you. Definitely lucky to have the club as an option. It's not so bad in the summer but in the depressing, dark winter months that indoor range helps me keep my sanity

Nice

This Evo trigger is pretty fantastic. It came with the spring and grub screw missing. I assume it wiggled out of its own accord like they do without some sort of thread locker. I went with some after market springs and found a pretty sweet spot for it. Very clean and resettable first stage and solid wall that breaks very nicely. Occasionally if I pull through the first stage too quickly it goes off before the wall but when that happens the pellet ALWAYS lands where its supposed too. Haven't even bothered to tweak it out.

Do you guys have room for another shooter? 93* with 75*dew point here...I'll even bring pellets and Theobens only! BTW nice guns!
I will always make room for you at the table anytime you feel like making the trip. Bring your beauties for me to be jealous and drool over please 😆

That is a nice indoor range, is the far wall an archery backstop?

Good spread of classy rifles too man!
Walking by that bench at random and out of the blue, I would have pulled up so short that I would have fell on my face.....
Thank you! They caught the attention of a few of the guys there shooting sporting clays. Its fun trying to bring the non airgun guys over to the light haha

That range is actually rated up to most pistol calibers believe it or not. They hang styrofoam in front of the actual backstop to hang targets.

That is a sweet range set up, and you are fortunate to be able to access it. I am green with envy sir (y)

Shooting in the AC sounds really nice! You have
some nice looking hammers to do it with.

You got that right.

Being all outdoorsy and Uber manly man is all good until some sack stiction sets in from the sweat, then I get all Nancy like and go in the house to cool off........
An air conditioned range is where good pellet pushers go when they die!

Trigger spring was missing when you got it?
After market spring? Or a replacement from the parts bin?

Would you be so kind as to share what particular spring and where to get it?
That would be much better than me having to manufacture one that may or might not work well.

Thank you
I can do you one better and just mail you one. I had to buy them in a 10 pack and have some spares. Grub screws too.
