OK the title sounds a little creepy.
Here is a recent addition to the herd.
It's a Walther LG55T. The LG55's were produced between 1955-1967. From the serial number I estimate this one was manufactured somewhere between 1957-59.


The rifle came with Hensoldt Wetzlar adjustable iris which appears to be of the same vintage.

The original seal looked like a crumbled zesta cracker when I pulled the piston out.

Drilled and tapped the end of the piston for the new adaptor and seal from Vortek.

New spring came from ARH (J. Maccari). As you can see it is a bit longer than the original.

After pushing a few cleaning patches down the barrel and a little polish with JB bore cleaning compound, initial shot groups look pretty good.
