A New Wolf Rises

Sub12 Airgunners has a video up as well.

I think I am probably thinking about this too hard without understanding valves well enough…

At 15:30, he says the FAC models will have a “balanced style valve” unlike the low powered model. Is that different from a balanced valve? Is there a range from balanced to balanced style to traditional (don’t know the its term). I thought with the balanced valve, you set the hammer and adjust power with the reg. Wouldn’t that take away from the usefulness (maybe not right word) of that nice power wheel that most will expect to be used to adjust your power?

Hope that wasn’t a stupid question, but haven’t owned enough balanced valve rifles to know better.

great looking gun , but my god $3500? seriously talk about inflation… pass
Yeah as with ALL of the Daystate guns, these fall right in line with Super bloated pricing ....

You will Never convince me it costs them 1/2 what the retail pricing is for the guns..

If you Really put the price in perspective of one of these damn things divide how much per yard of distance the Average shooter will be shooting them it becomes Very clear how ridiculous it is......

This is why I titled it the "overpriced wolf" in the announcement guess the name thread...

It looks like it will be a very competitive gun, and the base price is about $2399. Not sure why I see grumbling about the DS guns with regard to price, but not a peep about the Thomas or AAA, both of which are more expensive. Let see how this new gun does at the range before we start grinding it down...
I’ll bite since I mentioned price in my comment…
I don’t mind the starting price, as you said basically $2400, as that is close enough to standard for the top of the heap rifles albeit, still a bit more than most. Not a stupid crazy price. My price complaint is the chassis price, but I had the same complaint with the Red Wolf chassis. I might eventually buy this in the Carbon… but I really wanted the chassis. That is my sole complaint.

As for the 2 comparisons you made:
I never bought an EVOL because of the price, but it is actually only slightly more but comes in a chassis. They actually up charge for the wood/laminate, so I definitely wouldn’t buy those. It would be cheaper for me to buy the Evol, oddly enough. I am afraid of what the new ones will cost with the new barrels though, as I’m guessing the price will go up, and I still wouldn’t have one.

The chassis BW is actually up to Thomas price levels, which again is why I don’t have a Thomas bench rifle. It does feel a little easier to stomach a price like that from a boutique shop vs a factory, I guess… Again, not a price I’m willing to pay right now, so my price consciousness steers me away from it too.

Now that you mention it, those are probably the only Non-Daystate rifles with a starting price more than this rifle (looking at the main event rifles). Every other manufacturers’ rifles on the podiums are actually less, so I guess I could see why some people will complain…
