Well I baptized my new Yong Heng shortly after I got it by not turning on the water pump. I smelled something burning and looked down to see it smoking. I turned it off and turned on the pump and it ran next time I tried it. It ran long enough to fill my new Great White tank most of the way and then it started making more noise than normal. So, I tore it apart and found that the factory had not put any locktight on the second stage piston so the top threaded piece had loosened up banged on the top of the head and destroyed itself. So, I ordered a new part for $12. Let us remember the reason I bought Yong Heng #2 was because I had overheated my first one three times so no longer trusted it to last.
Anyway I finally got around to putting the new piston on the newer machine and plugged it in and tested it. It werqed fine when I tested it but when I tried to use it later on it started banging and rattling like it was going to come apart. It was about that time that I remembered I had made a mental note to put oil in it before I ran it! Now I know why I ordered a new piston set a few days back before I started all of this.
In the meantime I am still using my near two year old YH that I have overheated three times to 100C+ degrees so don't trust it. I did pick up a corded outlet with a switch on it so when I turn on the power for the compressor to run the pump turns on automatically. Sadly that does not help with not putting any oil in it though.
Old age or brain damage take your pick. Whatever it is it is one of the few constants in my life.
