Air Arms AA Prosport owners…

I have Pro Sport .22 left hand walnut. Putting out 11 fpe with about 1k pellets through it. I highly recommend this short stroke kit.

Thanks, I got it from a buddy who made a hand full for a group of guys. I also was fortunate enough to have someone like Sqwirl57: help me out through my springer process and put his special tune on my PS.

Congratulations on your new gun that’s on the way! We will all want to see pics of that fresh walnut! Where are you getting it from and what are you planning to put on top?
Ordered from Pyramid air, it was the last walnut in stock. I haven’t decided on the scope. I have a Sightron BigSky 4-16X42 on my 97K and it’s worked well for ranging field target and paper punching. I kind of like the front adjustable objective vs the side focus, but it just depends on what I find. Was looking at a Sightron STAC 3-16X42, it’s a side focus made in the Philippines. I haven’t looked thru one though..lol.

If you’re thinking about getting one of these guns then I highly recommend getting one. I love mine and have shot it way more than my TX. Cocking the gun is just different than other guns, for me it took little to no time to get used to the lever action. As far as accuracy, I firmly believe the gun is more capable of shooting accurately than I am. The JSB 8.44 either size are the only different pellets that I have really tried. I’ve had the Pro Sport for about two years now and it’s not something that going anywhere anytime soon.

Wondering what pic rail you have on your rifle?

I only had the sightron on while I was using it for Field Target. I will probably be using my Hawke Side Winder 8x32x56 between my TX and PS, until I can get my scope count to match my gun count. I think I was using “modified” FX no limit rings in that picture. I wouldn’t recommend those rings. I wanna get better rings soon, maybe some Sportsmatch
rings? As far as scopes go your right, lots of choice’s out there.

I’m currently using burris signature Z rings with the plastic eccentric inserts on my 97K with a Sightron BigSky 4-16X42 MD and they worked great for zeroing the scope really close without cranking on the turrets, so it is close to optical center. It’s a 1.0” scope tube though, haven’t checked to see if they have 30mm rings and inserts.

Would you recommend the big Sightron for hunter field target? How does it range for you compared to others you’ve tried?

Not sure if I would recommend if you’re going to mount it on a springer. Not that it would damage it. That sightron it essentially a range finder, but since it was mounted on my PS I have exprienced more temp shifts than I have ever had. So I am going to try my Hawke from this point forward. By the way the shifts have seemed to go away since I mounted it back on my PCP. I am slowly regaining my sanity back also. I do love me my springers though! No doubt. I just want/need it to be one temp when I shoot or in the shade all day!

Currently looking at the Athlon scopes as well.
Maybe there wasw other issues besides temp shifts, maybe something was moving or shifting, mounts, rings, stock screws..etc. I know there is a temp shift on scopes in the hot sun, but springers just add to the list of variables that cause crazy POI shifts that baffle us…lol. Sometimes it takes a lot of shooting and investigating to figure out whats going on, springers are crazy sometimes..lol. I’ve had 4 different Sightrons and they all did pretty good, But I rarely shoot in the hot sun. I’ve never tried the big 10-50X60 SIII so no experience on that one, also read the STAC wasn’t great, so that’s off the table. I just might try one of these Athlons
I’m still researching.

yes, I definitely still have a lot to learn about my two springers. I’m pretty sure @Sqwirl57, has been working working on my TX, since I’ve seen some videos about making guides. So it looks like I will be taking another vacation to Crazytown again in the near future! Can’t wait! 😁
