AAA EVOL 30

Just came into possession of one. Out of the box , first thing that hit me was how light it was! Felt like 5 lbs. Feels rock solid. Going to have to learn reg adjustment and hammer spring adjustment as well. look forward to shooting it next week, weather permitting.
Probably gonna need the AAA tools designed for the Evol.

I still for the life of me can't understand why people feel as though these need to be "tuned" 😂 Every single one I own has been absolutely perfect "out of the box" I think that was the entire goal of the gun.
That's because this is not out of the box. previous owner had it tuned to their liking. I'm also pretty sure the tune will change between pellets and slugs. I'm just preparing for that.

My Evol .30 was absolutely perfect out of the box. I bought the tools for it also but have never found the need or desire to adjust a single thing about it. It’s as close to perfect as I could hope for.
I take that back, I have had issues with one of my magazines not feeding correctly and deforming pellets. AOA said I’ve owned it too long for any kind of warranty replacement and I dont want to cough up another 100 bucks for another new one.
Congratulations on your new Evol. You’re going to love it!!

The only adjustment that I felt compelled to make to any of my Evols was to lighten the second stage engagement slightly to suit me.
IF I had not been spoiled by Steyr, Anschutz and Walther triggers, the factory AAA trigger setting would in all likelihood have been fine.

The factory tunes could probably be fiddled with a little to gain some efficiency, but I am happy with the stock shot counts, so I have left them unmolested.
The Evols are pretty consistent out of the box performers.

@pnwairgunner I recommend that you contact @slayer and talk to him about the issue. He designed the gun and can tell you just about anything you need to know about it. He responds promptly and has been personable in my correspondence with him. You may not need to buy a new mag.

I had the same reaction with my 15" .22. It's not heavy at 7 lbs, but it handles like it is much lighter than it actually is.

@rangur1 here's a couple excellent write-ups on changing the tune to suit your ammo type and weight.
