AAA EVOL Owners What is Wrong With This Picture?

Can anyone see anything wrong with this photo?:

When you figure it out I will tell you how I solved it. :p

I'm assuming the magazine is blocked. And I have never seen a Evol in person.

You are more perceptive than I was when ordering a scope mount. I come from the powder burner world and I don't usually think about magazine clearance when mounting a scope.

I like having a QD mount so I can pack rifles down into smaller cases or swap onto other platforms for testing. I got the scope leveled and installed and I went to put the magazine in and had the "oh crud" moment. I was considering machining a slot out to fit the mag and then decided to find a QD scope ring option. Unfortunately the only options I could find were the Leupold, Warne and Larue rings. I have a set of the Leupold and Warne versions on other rigs and I don't really consider them to get back to zero within the margin that I would prefer. My Larue mounts have a tendency to dig into the rail if you don't get the rings adjusted just right so I didn't want to go that route.

I had an Optics Planet discount coupon and decided to get two of the ADM (American Defense Manufacturing) 30mm Aimpoint M68 mounts and installed my scope into those "rings". It actually worked out well although a bit pricey for what I had hoped. So I'm posting my mistake in hope that it can help someone else not to repeat it. Here are the new "rings" with plenty of clearance for the magazine:

Have a great weekend folks.

Here's my solution to get a solid and repeatable (off and back on) one piece cantilever mount on there. The bottom Leupold Mark-AR mount is modified by removing and squaring metal off the back.

That is a good setup. I saw it in a thread after I realized the issue with the mount I had installed. I now know to wait to order any mounts until after I have received any new pellet rifles. The only issue is to get the correct eye relief I need to be able to have quite a bit more rear offset to place the scope further back on the receiver.

I don't like 1 piece mounts as I have yet to find some that don't sit way high off the barrel. I would like some good solid QD mounts though.

Same! I think QD mounts especially make sense for these guns as you have to remove your scope to take the barrel out.. something you’ll likely be doing more often than with other guns.

This thread was my reminder to order some larue rings.

How good are they at returning to zero if you remove them? I might like to switch mine to something like that.
@Dairyboy I usually take a photo of how the day scope is mounted before I remove it to work on the gun or to place a night scope on. When I replace it, I do so according to the photo. I haven’t had issues using this method. The key is knowing which slots the mounting screw fit into and returning them.
