AAA Evol , Stock performance?

All that have / had a 30 cal evol. What was the stock setting of your platform? Since JSB / FX pellets are the defacto ammo for the most part , what was the registered velocity that you saw? Secondly, how was the out of the box accuracy? I have heard they come tuned hot and many ease it down. How was the performance whether you kept it stock or adjusted the tune? Thanks

Mine was at 903 fps using 44's.

When I got the rifle the set screw that holds HS tensioner wasn't tightened but I didn't know that until months later when I noticed the velocity had dropped to 840-is fps. It appeared to me the HST had backed off quite a bit. After some time spent shooting groups I chose 875 fps because the cocking effort was less and the gun grouped better.
I tightened the set screw and it was good for the rest of the time I had the rifle.

My Evol 30 out of the box shoots JSB 44.75gr at 888 fps and NSA 43.8gr slugs at 894 fps. Accuracy is one ragged hole at 50 yards with the JSBs'. I haven't shot proper groups out to 100 yards yet due to limited range and time but I know it's capable. I haven't found the need to make adjustments yet until I start experimenting with different ammo.

Here is a pic of my evol and some targets I had on this labtop of what when I was testing ammo and tunes , now all tunes were from 850 fps to 1000 fps or 76 to 110 fpe , notice show just sa 61 and 66 grouped way under 3/4 moa and also notice one casting I noticed they just didnt look square at base so I modified a lather collet and squared them on lathe and reshot then all were under 1 moa , but with pellets I shoot my evol at 860fps and for my mini I shoot it at 868 with 18.1 gr H&N

Have a EvoL Magnon myself. Love the size of it. 44g JSBs at 850 and 48g Vortex pellets at 845. Not bad seeing what the longer .30s are getting. Have been thinking about adjusting the reg just a bit to get a bit more our of it. Having tuned my EvoL hps a couple weeks ago and seen what I can get out of it Im curious what I can do with the Magnon.

Do any of you shoot slugs in your evol? If so what speeds do you get?
How much potential does the evol have to be tuned up to shoot slugs at 1000fps or above?
The evol has potential to be turned up, but it is not as easy as dialing up an FX Impact.
The Evol has to be degassed and broken down to be adjusted.

I have only made minor hammer spring adjustments on any of mine, I was happy with the range where it was set out of the box.

Out of the box it shoots great, with a reg pressure around 2100. Seems like JSB 50.15 grain pellets were in the 880fps range. I am a tinkerer and have set my regulator higher and messed with the hammer spring to be on the cusp of waisting air with any more hammer spring pressure. Currently my speeds are above 950fps shooting JSB Hades with a moderate 2300 regulator setting and decent hammer spring pressure. Any more reg pressure and hammer spring is waisting air out of the end of the barrel and taking from this highly efficient system. But it will sling them faster. The barrel length being 18" (457mm for you metric folks) is it's only limitation in power.

I shoot multiple types of ammo with similar MOA grouping. It doesn't group cast ammo very well though, and probably because it isn't weight consistent or sorted.

how far were you shooting the 66 gr. and how many shots per fill? im considering purchasing one next week.

I am going to guess about 30 shots for full fill ,
only issues I did have is both guns had a few leaks like valve broke in both and some orings like gages and reg , but one time my mini somehow had a failure where as the valve seat launched and it took out valve spring and hammer and adjuster cap and it was hard to get parts but in end Aoa had got them took like a few months, but since then both shooting well and no issues both guns are accurate , my 30 cal for some reason shoots 44 gr fine and but them 50 gr are terrible groups at all speeds , They are a rigid gun but like I said getting my parts was not easy like FX or Edgun parts

Hopefully mine doesn't fail. Was the parts covered by warranty?
