Absolutely Amazed!

Got this idea from seeing "Swing360's" post, so I thought I would try it. Thanks Swing !
I had know idea of the power these PCP .22's have. I was absolutely Amazed and blown away. The pellet actually split the penny open and was going out the back.

yup there powerful and if you amazed at .22 try that with a .25 lol I got a spinner trap for xmass and I put it out past 50 yards still blew/broke the spinners off and the grouping dent in the middle was probly 2-3 pellets form cracking threw I thought it was funny my father was disappointed in the purchase so we are making our own soon

Also, before I reg my .177 S500 I'll turn it up to 11 and see what it will do to a penny at 25yds with a 16gr jsb beast.

Mr Gagets & Hi John (Looking forward to seeing you again at the nationals)...If you want to really try shooting hard here is a spinner target I made for my friend Chris (AKA NC Airgunner) a few months ago. I made it to withstand his .30 cal Boss and it hardly moved the big spinner and did not spin either.. He then shot his .45 cal Sam Yang and made the left one spin around good but only a couple on the larger paddle. I made it with posts that drive in the ground if needed and they were not needed. The paddles are 3/4" hardened steel...

I love photos like that.
I shot a penny with my .25 cal Marauder a few years back and got some great photo's as well. I taped it to a " Do-All Outdoors impact self healing Big Gong Show Target" at about 10 yds.
I believe my Marauder was shooting around 37 FPE at the muzzle.

Current one cent coins are made of zinc which is copper plated. Zinc is more brittle than copper. I wonder what the shots would have looked like with the older copper alloy pennies?

So I got around to shooting some coinage today. 16.2gr JSB Beast moving at 787fps for a whopping 27.7 fpe..........in .177. The range was 25yd.





The older copper pennies just bent but didn't break. The newer zinc ones are the broken/shattered ones. The quarter took two shots to punch through.

I was curious with the power and balistics of what energy is left at 25 yards with my .22. I know muzzle energy it goes through 3/4" plywood like butter. So I setup a double walled thermos down range. This test was done with Daystate Wolverine that pushes 18 gr at around 890fps.

The first shot was pure lead dome JSB 18gr, it went through the first side and dented the 4th 'wall' of the other side and then fell inside the thermos. The impact rotated the thermos so for the next shot I put a cinderblock on top and used a Gamo rocket ball tipped pellet, 14gr or whatever. It went all the way through and kept going, clean holes compaired to the massive dent the soft lead JSB did on impact. Talking about stainless steel here...very capable energy to put a hole in whatever is there.
