Accu-Shot Atlas bipod or a Harris bipod with picatinny to swivel adapter?

I just faced a similar situation. I have 2 Harris BRMS bipods, but would need to use a swivel stud adapter which would be kind of hokey. I also watched a Youtube vid by Southern Gunner in which he said he would never pay $300 for a bipod , which only holds up his gun. He did say that’s just him. Well I bought an AcctTac BR4 right after watching his video. My Impact Compact, LCS SK19, and Leshiy 2 were all over 2K before optics. The Delta Wolf I have ordered is $3,300 so with the Nightforce NSX8 2.5-20x50 going on it, that gun/scope will be worth a little over $5K. Yes, a bipod is only holding up my gun. Guess it depends on what you’re holding up.

I agree. Both bipods are great, I’ve used my Harris bipods for my 25-06 centerfires and they worked great, but I also have to agree on those adapters being hokey. If I recall correctly, I have the HBR version. It’s nice, but I looked around on Amazon just to find junky adapters anyways. I also looked on the Harris website and they don’t even sell the adapters I need.
I read about the atlas bipods and it seems like most people really like them, especially on those FX Dreamtacs. I might end up getting an atlas bipod now.

Also give Accu-Tac Bipods a look. I really like my BR4 G2. I also have an Atlas PSR LW17 BT46. There's pros & cons with both but I don't plan to get rid of either one. I also have a couple Harris bipods but they don't get much use. I only use my Harris bipod on my Daystate Huntsman Regal because I have sling stud mounted on the forend. There's not much room to mount a picatinny rail on the Huntsman with it being stable.

I have Harris, Accu-tec, Atlas and clones. The clones never get used by me, I save them for when we have younger kids around , and we have a (rimfire) popgun event. Imo, I don't consider a rifle finished till it has it's own bipod. It is a weird, and expensive quirk I have. I am by no means a great shot, but I can hold my own. When I miss a shot I want it all on me. I hate equipment malfunction!

So I'll put this as nice as I can, IMHO, I think, generally you get what you pay for.

Respectively,

Eamon

OR any relabeled $25 CLONE if for search for it on AMAZON and are paying attention to the picture of what's available.

I just watched a cyclops video on them. They actually seem like some of the Chinese clones work really well. I might try them out if I find a good clone.

Watch Tomcat Airguns review on the Atlas clone and make your decision from there. It's true, you do get what you pay for.

I agree you get what you pay for (hopefully). I don’t like shooting off a bipod so I can’t comment specifically about them. I shoot off a table. Either a four legged or I have a three legged affair that’s built on a surveyors transit tripod. Then I use a modified scissors jack for a front rest. It’s a bit of a pain hauling that around but I feel that I do much better then trying to shoot prone or possible sitting with a bipod.
