Acecare Tank Valve

On another thread a link to Acecare tanks was in the thread. I have never looked into inexpensive tanks. I wouldn't mind another tank and wanted to find out about these or another cheap option. I browsed Aliexpress and didn't see a valve like I am use to seeing a DIN 300 with a screw type bleeder. Do they make any like that? I have a compressor so I am not concerned with a DOT cert. as long as I have a safe tank.

thanks for the help

I have the two gauge red handle / gauge in handle valve on an Acecare 6.8L tank. Both tank and valve have worked well and been problem free for the year+ that I have had it. My only "complaint" - really more of a minor annoyance - is that the tank pressure gauge rotates with the on/off handle that it is housed in (fill pressure gauge remains stationary). This means that sometimes I have to tilt my head a bit to see the remaining tank pressure.

I've always felt that the Acecare tanks were excellent quality but I wished they offered them with 7/8-14 threads as an option which is standard on U.S. SCBA tanks. The tanks from China are better than the quality I've experienced with their fill valves. Most of them are of lesser quality and lack the precision of valves from U.S. vendors or as compared to the European Jubilee valves.

I don't have personal experience with this valve from Aliexpress. It has the design and features that I'd look for if I was trying to buy an affordable valve for an economy tank setup. It is available in both the 7/8-14 U.S. tank thread size and the Chinese tank standard M18*1.5 thread pitch. I bought an Acecare tank with a DOT Cert label and then got a valve from these guys:

Came with a Wika gauge and I got them to put a burst disc in it, so it can be filled at a dive shop if I need to. It isn't the total low budget way to go, and even though I fill primarily with my own compressor, the little bit extra to make sure it can be filled at a shop was worth it to me so that if I am traveling and need air, it's not a problem.

The whole thing saved me about $150 dollars on a 60 min tank, and the valve, gauge, etc is nicer than the tank I paid more for from a US airgun supplier.

Good link I was looking for something like this, Are all the acecare tanks this size or just certain ones? I was wondering if it would work on a smaller 3liter?

  • The Acecare tanks for sale on AliExpress are all metric threads as far as I know but whoever actually makes them, probably makes them in imperial sizes as well if the market requires that. It isn't just China that uses metric valves. It is pretty much the rest of the world, apart from the US. I also have a US-made Luxfer SCBA tank with a metric M18x1.5 DIN 300 valve which was made for the Australian market. Seek and you shall find.

The link I posted above for the tank valve gives you a choice of 7/8-14 or metric M18*1.5 valve thread sizes. Most Aliexpress 3 liter tanks are threaded M18*1.5 so if you get one of those choose that thread sized valve to fit. I haven't seen any 3 liter tanks with a 7/8-14 neck thread. Most small U.S. tanks under 3 liters are 5/8-18 thread. Aliexpress has vendors selling 5/8-18 threaded valves. Here is a link for a 5/8-18 valve that is otherwise identical to the larger threaded valves in this thread.
