I keep getting 'incorrect server response' so I'm not able to upload a pic, but anyway I'm very excited.

I've got a .25 condor, 24" barrel and extreme valve. To help out with the flex issue I added the tri rail and wok guard, as a recommendation I added the lighter trigger spring. I'm tethered to a 68ci tank with an inexpensive 1800psi regulator.

I couldn't get better than 1" groups at 50yds with the higher fps of around 970. I kept playing with the power wheel and varying my hold.

Right when I was calling it a day it started grouping great! By that time the 68ci tank was down to 2K and the gun bottle was setting at 1600psi (I'm somewhat confused on the regulator, it won't keep the gun bottle at 1800psi even with the tank at a much higher psi, I guess it has to do with volume?)

In the end; the 68ci had 2K, the gun bottle had 1600psi, power wheel was 0 and my hold was as light as I could get. I'm shooting prone with a bag.

Using the FX 34g pellets, this gave me 933 fps, 65 fpe and a solid 5 shot 1/2" group at 50 yds. Foster fitting started leaking when I removed the hose so it'll be a few days before I can double check the consistancy of this.

Any help on uploading pics is appreciated, this post will be my 11th one to post as far as that goes with uploading.

I understand my chrony could be out of calibration, I have clipped it a couple of times 😖, but I've got one of those $35 dollars coming in and it'll give me something to compare it to.


 
I "resolved" the flex issue on my Condor with a Mad-Dog stock. Though I found my best accuracy much at much lower velocity ~680fps, detuned with the TT tophat (the one with inserts). Clicked in here because I hadn't seen the WOK guard mentioned since the TAG forum was active. Ahhh, nostalgia. Sounds like you're on to something!

Wow. Best accuracy all the way down to 680 fps. Seems a shooter would see quite a trajectory performance difference from 933 to 680 but such is all relative, I guess. Both my Condors (.177 and .22) shoot well for me in the 950-1000 fps range. As to the Mad-Dog stock, which specific model did you try. I am considering trying one myself.

As to the flex issue, I recently mounted a green laser on the tube dovetail just above the barrel on my "newer to me" .22 Condor and without the Tri-Rail I could just place my cheek FIRMLY on the tank and watch the laser shift in relationship to the crosshair. Seems that frame flex was definitely happening. With the Tri-Rail I have to press much harder (HEAVY "cheek weld") to see such but it would still happen GIVEN ENOUGH PRESSURE. Thankfully, I don't rely on a heavy cheek weld when shooting and the scopes get relatively high with the Tri-Rail which negates the need to press as firmly to get the eye directly behind the scope. And thus I don't experience the issue with the Tri-Rail only mounted for both guns for the way I shoot. Could be entirely tied to HOW I shoot, however, and we're all certainly different in that respect. One could put a bit too much pressure there by accident and effect a shot and I suppose the Mad-Dog stock has eliminated such concerns COMPLETELY in your case?

Lol, I know not much is spoken in the ancient 'condor' language anymore. Shows what's in a name seeing how the actual condor bird is on the endangered species list.

I went with the wok guard and tri rail to cut cost, and the trigger spring was only a few bucks extra. They've definitely improved the gun all around. The tri rail raising the scope made it more comfortable for longer shooting and the lighter spring is a big plus.

I need to get a couple of new safety hold on screws. I had to file a slot in the heads because they rounded off, I'm not even sure if I've ever taken them off.

I must have shot at least 60 shots or more before I hit that 933 fps area, I'm glad I kept going with the lower pressure. Previously I had tried lower speeds with not much improvement so I can say that the guard, rail and trigger helped. I'm curious why the big spread between yours and mine, are you shooting the .25/34g pellets.

I thought very much the same but allowed myself to experiment and for a very long while it seemed the slower (fps) I shot, the better my groups were. I was shooting out to 67 yards at the time, and trajectory changed (probably not as much as you'd think), but didn't really impact accuracy. I'm cluless what model my stock is - I can post a pic if you like (at least I think I can post a pic). When I got it, it was *the* stock for a Condor. My rifle is ~10 years old, maybe 15, so if there have been changes I'm not up to date.

I've never sedulously studied flex -it was just something that was an obvious vulnerability of the design and the addition of the MD stock tightened up my groups quite a bit. I can't swear (and wouldn't - the tank is still cantilevered) that all flex is gone, but my accuracy improved considerably and has remained constant.

I had read about flex but hadn't really focused on it. Mounting the laser just fortuitously illustrated the issue very plainly to me. The Tri-Rail makes a major difference for me but I don't use a heavy "cheek weld" so that probably reduces the likelyhood of flex.

Thanks for the offer on the picture but it may well be a model no longer made and their site has good pictures of available models. I assume that in general you view the stock as a good aid for flex and that it seems to provide good shooting position, comfort and weight?

I really enjoy mine..I have sold all my extra parts including my awesome shooting factory. 22 barrel..in favor of mounting a .223 .. 1-12 twist barrel..who does not work great with my bullet weight .. so lucky me the member who purchase my barrel sold it back to me .. so as soon I get it here.. will assemble a condor. 22 ... in the meantime I need to source a new barrel in .224 .. 1-8 or 1-9 ..

In general I think the stock was an improvement. I'm long-limbed and would have liked it just a hair longer (it already has a thick ~1" butt pad, so can't really pad that out more) and I did sand the finger grooves off the pistol grip as they were incompatible with my fingers, or at least how I like to hold them.

ETA: I looked at the MD site - my stock is most like the "Airforce Ultima Long".
