Adding coolant tank to carette compressor

I have read some threads and seen some videos of guys adding a external coolant tanks to there carette compressors. But is is really needed? Was someone experiencing overheating issues?
so far i haven't had any heating problems. After 30 minutes (66cf tank filling from 2900 to 4500) of running you can touch every line or the heads and there barely warm.

"kingrude1"I think the coolant tanks was just something for guys who like to tinker. It would help get rid of the air out of the system easier but other than that I don't believe it would supply much of a benefit. Unit already runs cool if you install the coolant into the unit properly.
Is an overflow tank a requirement? No. Is it an easy upgrade that makes coolant changes simple? Yes. Does it completely remove all unwanted air from the cooling system? Yes. It is a PITA to get all of the air out of a Carette cooling system using a spray bottle or syringe. Carette owners can easily add an inexpensive overflow tank once and no longer deal with bubbles circulating through the cooling system. It is one of the only design advantages the Air Venturi has over the Carette but it is easily remedied by installing a home made overflow tank. Total cost can be as little as $8 in parts and takes only an hour to fabricate and install. This is a once and done convenience upgrade. It makes coolant changes as simple as oil changes plus the satisfaction of knowing the cooling system is performing at peak efficiency.
