Adjustable Wing Butt Plate - Marauder and more - In case you need one

Just wanted to share. I bought one a while ago for my Air Arms s510 and really liked it. For 3D printed it has remained feeling solid. I just recently bought two more and had one custom made for a Marauder since no one made one!
I love this gun.
If you have been looking, dont hesitate. JB3DPD on ebay.

Looks like a good unit for a 3D type.
Sadly the multi segment as shown "IS NOT" AAFTA Hunter class legal, but just fine for WFTF or Open classes.
I saw a lot of this at last years nationals. I think they will be a detriment at this years event considering the dynamic nature of the course. Being unable to adjust them will cause a lot of problems. I don't care much anymore so let's see how this plays out. If I get enough complaint's it's easy enough to DQ those breaking the rules. Otherwise I'll leave it be.

Hunter class
A. A rifle sling may be used & must be attached to the rifle at two points, the fore end & butt stock.
Slings may be attached & detached during a match. Single point slings are not allowed.
B. Adjustable components on the stock, including cheek & knee risers, may not be adjusted during
a match. No equipment may be added or removed during a match except for a rifle sling. No
butt-hooks or thigh-rests are allowed.
C. Only monopods, shooting sticks, or bipods may be used. Any such aids must rest on the ground
and may not be driven or otherwise embedded into the ground or shooting pad, and cannot be

attached to the gun: must release from the gun as the gun is picked up, and must not connect to
the gun with studs or devices that restrict gun movement. A single stop may be used in front or
behind the gun support, but no other anchoring mechanisms are permitted

whats a butt hook by definition? I don't see a definition that explains this in any manner listed above. Kind of the same with bipod and tripod.
This has been an age old discussion and left up to the MDs discretion. I have spoken to several and each has their own OPINION on the topic and rule. Until AAFTA releases any type of definition on the matter then its open to any interpretation. If any MD wants to threaten a DQ ahead of time, I just wont attend their match. Im not here to cause problems in any manner rather show a cool product that wasn't available for said model of rifle until I had one made. Ive shot in multiple GPs and many matches in the last 1.5yrs without any issues or comments.

This unit I did add an additional link to. Easy enough to remove if I want or the MD wants ahead of time. Wasn't sure how it would look or feel without so I threw it in as can be seen in the picture.

I asked about an adjustable butt in this thread. It may help define it a bit, but I still think Hunter division should have a clear definition of allowable butts.

Seems straight forward. Im willing to bet you have to dig deeper in other areas to find someone elses definition to apply to us. Just my guess. I got for comfort really.

yeah, again not trying to have that endless discussion here, its all opinion based essentially with some truth behind Thomasairs definition. Thats what I always knew as a butthook, under the underarm. The origins of the device itself says so. Anyway....if anyone wants one, the 3d printed are solid so far!

Same here. I had the bottom corner of the factory butt digging into my shoulder. I currently put my action into a Challenger stock and de-tuned to sub 12 fpe. The Challenger stock makes for a nice fit(like a budget Thomas). The grip isn't great so I got a Royal Arms grip, MUCH better!

If AAFTA wanted to get specific about what is allowed or not, they can adopt something like ISSF's rules regarding a "standard rifle". The ISSF rules state the max allowed depth of curve of a buttplate is 20mm. Then, doesn't matter what you want to call it, a hook, a wing, adjustable arm, or whatever else - and it will be an objectively measurable thing rather than something subjective like what is or is not a hook.

It appears I am somewhat behind on this matter. However, as long as there is no HOOK involved, you are free to choose any style of "Buttpad" you prefer. I am fully supportive of this flexibility and, consequently, will not disqualify anyone in the Hunter Division based on their choice of buttpad.

Nevertheless, please be aware that I will issue a single warning to any competitor who removes, replaces, or adjusts any component of their rig, including removing scope wheels between lanes. Should this infraction occur a second time, the competitor will be kindly asked to withdraw from the competition.

I think the AAFTA rules do have some ambiguity but for the most part they are straight forward. in addition the BOG members are always willing to answer email questions like being able to adjust or move a palm rest / hamster so you can add air to your gun mid course and then return it back to where it was - which is allowed. @humbled
