Advice 1st PCP

Centercut,

I have Deltawolf .25 , only shoot targets no hunting, would you buy 30cal barrel kit for 100ryds target shooting ......or buy anther gun in 30cal?

Thoughts ?

Thanks

Greg
The best gun available OF ANY BRAND made RIGHT NOW under $4,000 for 100Y target shooting is the .25 Red Wolf HP. There was one listed today for $1500 but it didn't last more than half a day. I should have bought it just to have a spare.
The Delta Wolf .25 for 100Y target is just as good as the .30 caliber. I like the .30 for Extreme FT because I can see the pellet trace to the target and see my misses. To me, that is more valuable than the .22 RDM or .25 King Heavy which have a better BC. But for Benchrest target shooting the .25 DW is every bit as good as the .30 DW.

I sell a lot of airguns to mostly beginners as their first air rifle, usually horse ranchers in the Descanso, CA area east of San Diego. I buy used, change out all the o-rings, tune the gun and test for accuracy, install a scope, find a used SCBA tank and fill rig, soup to nuts.
My favorite guns to look for are used .22 FX Streamline, .22 FX Wildcat, .22 Daystate Renegade or Huntsman, and .22 Cricket Bull Pup or Carbine. Mostly tune to shoot JSB 18.1 at about 880 fps, and everyone I've sold can put a five-shot group inside a dime at 50 yards. These guns are super reliable, easy to shoot, easy to maintain, and very accurate. Since 2019 when I started selling used guns, I've sold about 30-ish, and all have been very reliable.
If I had to list two, I would say the .22 Daystate Renegade or the .22 FX Streamline. IMHO.

As a fellow Lefty we are limited right of the gate, i do not understand why some manufacturers still insist on losing business due to right hand only versions of guns..
I personally do not care where the damn cocking handle is left or right, but to purposely cut half the stock off is just dumb..

sorry about the mini rant.

As for your choice of gun we need to narrow the field a bit more, since your past experience is in springers i would assume you are not familiar with a bull pup?

The pup's are a different animal, no better or worse IMO, just a different shooting experience than a "long gun"

so 1st decision is pup or long gun

Next up is hunter, target, or combination gun, this will help us suggesting power

Do you want a gun that is very low maintenance with little to no adjustability, or do want to go nuts with a full tilt adjustable gun ? More knobs, more ways to get yourself out in left field .

Lastly i see you are looking at the used market, be Super Careful here amigo, more often than not a used gun has been abused, screwed up, over adjusted, over powered, you get the idea...
am NOT saying that all used are bad, just buy from reputable Individuals, and make damn sure to have a phone conversation with the seller before buying, you can get a pretty good feel for the seller this way.

Look at the seller's previous post history, social media, etc, you would be surprised to see the same guy pissing and moaning about what a turd a gun is because he screwed it up, then have the sack to list it for sale...

Also do Not believe the retailers that say they do so called inspections or go through the gun , horse hocky in most cases this " process" entails a visual inspection, and maybe a signature on some piece of paper or target and some 5 shot so called chrony read out slip...
Again Not saying all retailers but in my experience Most...

I will end by saying i am Not trying to be negative, even though is seems that way, i am simply giving my past experiences in an effort to save you the grief and tremendous disappointment of a bad experience, 1200.00 is a LOT of money and you should be happy with your new gun, not end up with someone else's nightmare....

Good Luck to You !
Any chance you can message https://www.airgunnation.com/members/twebster.15605/ for me. I'm really interested in his rtu priest 2 but I'm not at ten days yet and can't contact anyone in classifieds. I would sure be grateful.

Centercut: I have the Daystate Renegade in .25 and the FX Streamline in .25 as well and I have to say that you're correct because these 2 pcps are straight shooters out of the box with no mods.

Op, not busting balls here but you will have a Very hard time finding a Daystate left hand friendly in your budget
The Hunsman/Revere line is right handed, left hand is available at a steep increase
Wolverines, Redwolf, even a used older Airwolf are over budget .

Maybe look into the Brocock guns, since they are basically a Daystate in disguise?

As i posted earlier more information from you would help us that are trying to help you....✌️
Krale sells the left hand revere same price as the right
