Advice sought on an entry level 10M air pistol

The PP200S-A is a very solid, accurate gun. Easy to work on. I've got one, zero problems of any kind in about a years+ worth of ownership.

Here's one currently in the classified section now. It's seems a little high priced, but you may be able to change that. It does come with both the .177 and the .22 barrels and shrouds -

Hi all!

I would like to get some opinion about Pardini K12 air pistol. I am about to buy a new entry level air pistol in order to become a competitive shooter.
Is it considered an entry level pistol or can you recommend something else ? What do you think about reliability ? How much does it cost to repair ?

Thank you in advance!

regardless of price ? I know Walther LP500 is the top choice and the most expensive too. What do you think about reliability issues ?

What are you planning to do, compete or just shoot for fun? I don’t shoot pistol competition but I do have a 717 that’s a lot of fun. Work out a realistic budget for yourself and shop around. Don’t start out with a high end gun, just get something you can take to a match and see what others are doing. You’ll save a lot of money you don’t need to spend at first. Trust me on that. After you’ve learned what questions to ask you can figure out what fits your need. As I also found out early, most comp shooters are very friendly and will show you things you had no idea about.

Can you think of a more accurate pistol to take to a match than a P17, for 50 dollars or so?

I have a couple of friends looking to try 10M air pistol in our local league, Unfortunately, although I've been shooting 10M air pistol a LONG time, I haven't stayed current on what model air pistols are available/ good for someone getting started.
It used to be any Daisy 717/747/777, Gamo Compact or IZH46 would get you into the sport without breaking the bank.
These days I see all three of those models are discontinued and commanding ridiculous $ when I do see one on the used market.
So far what I am seeing (in my initial search) is the Air Ventury V10 and Crossman 2300S as potentials. ( Either benefiting from a trigger job of course)
Any experience/ advice on these or other suitable options in the $200-500 range appreciated.
Thanks!

The Pardini is a great pistol. I have shot one and really like it. It is not an entry level pistol. It is an Olympic level pistol. They are made to shoot many thousands of shots.

I shoot an LP500 Expert. Really nice pistol and like the Pardini it is Olympic level. Two more to consider are Morini and Steyer. Those two you see most at the top level followed closely by Pardini and Walther. All 4 are great. None are entery level by any means.

Glad you got what you need for the guys to get started. Low end/price 10M pistol is a nitch that needs to be filled. Somebody needs to figure it out before the next Olympics. I think Crosman needs to take their silhouette PCP pistol and revamp it for 10M. Put good sights on it and a 10M grip. That would make a good reliable, low cost 10M pistol to get people started. It’s easy and cheap to work on. A whole cottage industry would spring up and make after market parts to upgrade it. Crosman could easily do this. If they could keep it under $500 they would have a winner.
I would agree 100%. Especially on the Crosman. I looked into the current 1701 model and was disappointed to hear that they seem to struggle to deliver 40 shots out of tha little cylinder. That drives the requirement for someone to add the expense of a tank to take with them IMHO. I feel Crosman would do better to build a 10M pistol on their co2 platforms like the 2300. I can get 60-80 shots out of my 2300S at 440 fps which is plenty for a match and practice session. I'm only seeing 6fps SD at that setting too. If I need more, I just drop in a convenient 12g cyl. IMHO, a 2300S with 10M sights, a good grip and trigger upgrade (from the 1701 or Prod) could set the new standard in affordable entry level pistols

I have shot a Styer Lp1 for the last 20 years myself. I've also owned a few samples of Walthers ,FWB and a Morini before the styer. No doubt all were awsome pistols but the older ( cheap and easy to feed) CO2 versions are getting hard to find. Anything newer and/or in PCP, starts driving the initial investment to over $1K. If they stay with it, that's a good path but I just can't justify a newbie who just wants to give it a try to drop that kind of $ .

Really? Not doubting you but I've done a couple of classified search's and even fat fingered 26 pages deep and can't seem to fine anything later than 2023 for a 46M of any kind. Would you know a title or date range or something else that might help me find it? Any help in locating one would be greatly appreciated.

No idea. My LP500 has never broke. I guess it would depend on what broke. All of these top end pistols are made to shoot, and shoot, and shoot,…… Competitive shooters shot a lot And pistols like this are designed to be shot a lot. For example, my daughter, shoots a Walther LG400 air rifle. She shoots 2-3 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. She started this in high school while on her high school rifle team and now has started her sophomore year in college shooting NCAA rifle. The only repair that has been made was over this past summer when her air cylinder started leaking thru the valve. I did the repair and it was around $30-$40 for the parts and tools I needed to repair it. Parts came from Europe so shipping doubled the cost.
