N/A advice

Your budget would be a good thing to mention. I'll second the RTI above. I picked up a P-3 earlier this year and after getting acquainted with it retired my FX stuff to paper punching with the wife.
The reg can be adjusted both ways without degassing or disassembling the rifle and the hammer spring is about as straight forward as it gets. Huge plus if you want to experiment and don't have loads of time to work on tunes.

Also. If price is no object I see some shops are showing Mora's in stock soon. Had I not just ordered another PCP and need to pay for it I'd be all over one. Fingers crossed the model I want is still in stock in a couple weeks.

@esd02 You may want to look into the AGT Vulcan 3. I don't know much about the tuning aspect but I've read that these guns generate some serious power and are really good slug shooters. Also consider taking some time to search through the AGN threads for more answers. There's plenty of info already posted on various .30 air rifles along with user experience.

Here's one example of an informative thread with user experience.

Either of these will work, both .30 (700mm). Bought several months apart from Krale, shooting JSB 44.75s in 980s, out-of-box. Prefer Uragan 2, smoother, quieter, less ammo fussy. V3 likes NSA 61.5g, both shoot ZAN 59g dead-on @ 50yds in 800s @ factory settings. RTI Mora or High Power Vulcan 3 will shoot slugs faster. WM

I have a maverick set up with a 600mm barrel that absolutely shoots awesome. While I don’t shoot slugs it shoots both 50 and 44.75 gr pellets wonderfully. I’m sure it would do slugs fine as at just an idle it shoots 44.75 just under 900 and 50 at 870. Actually was a super easy tune. Turned the internal adjuster screw all the way in , set the working reg to 120 bar. I shoot the power wheel on 4 or 5 can’t remember. Easy peasy.

My Maverick is set up the same but I'm shooting NSA 49.5GR slugs.

@Trucker3573 & @Firewalker Did your guns shoot these projectiles well out of the box? The OP's question is a bit confusing because he is asking about shooting slugs well out of the box, but also asks about guns that do not require a lot of tuning (reference quote below).

want a hard hitting .30 that doesnt require a ton of tuning and can shoot slugs well out of the box (900-1000 fps). feedback welcome. thanks in advance

I was talking to Derrick @zx10wall about this and the Vulcan 2-700 has a twist rate of 1:15.7. The Vulcan is a good slugger according to Derrick...Reach out to him on a PM or Tenacious air guns.....

I have a 30 caliber AGT Vulcan 3
I was shooting 55gn slugs @ 960 fps ( 112 ft lbs) when I took this rabbit... Entered his eye, then proceeded to remove all brain matter from skull.
@ 100yds it's still moving @ 843 fps (86 ft lbs)

Recommended ft lbs of energy for hunting coyote is only 50 ft lbs so this is way above that even at 100 yds.

I actually tuned it down a tad, was shooting 60gn slugs @ 954 fps (120+ ft lbs)
