AEA Challenger 30 Bullpup - 24" barrel & slugs

I would have returned that airgun with the quickness! Who wants to pay top dollar for a premium airgun with some dorky sized barrel? It seems like the Eastern European guns from Kalibr and AGT get hyped up, but then they can't deliver.
For the average consumer that would've been the thing to do but I modify everything and have no interest in warranties. The V3 is an excellent platform for creating a high power airgun with it's huge plenum and more robust parts than some other brands. The biggest problem with Airgun Technologies is the mentality of the manufacturer and the lack of after sale care. I still feel like I can fix the problems and have a superior airgun for less money overall than from other manufactures. I really wish the gun had an aluminum chassis or something other than wood for a stock.

Made it out to the WMA this afternoon for a short walk about. Found a good spot to do a rough sight in for the 47.2 gn slugs and a hoppy beverage can for a target at 40 yards. Standing, steadying against a tree, I was able to adjust the 2 moa Sig Romeo5 red dot optic on my Challenger and shoot the group below. I know these will be tighter with proper sight in, but I was very pleased with the performance of Nick's 47.2 .303 slugs in the Challenger. Looks like slugs in .303 are the ticket for AEA .30 cals.

Glad the .303's look promising. Curious to see what she would do scoped.

I may temporarily replace the red dot with a scope just to see what it will do with the slugs, but the gun is too heavy for field carry with even a light weight Hawke 4X scope. ( about 8.2 lbs with sling, no optic and a bit over 91/2 lbs with scope) so the 5.2 oz Sig red dot will be the long term solution. Not as young as I used to be, and weight matters these days...hehe!
