for anybody who has this in either 30 or 357.... How many shots per fill do you get? Also, how well is your unit holding up?
thats not too shabby! i was thinking of keeping something like this for hunting and i was considering just getting a break barrel to plink with lol. im new to airgunning. i come from the realm of pb's where i cant justify spending a thousand dollars on something that shoots something the size of a grain of rice lol!!!! thank you for your input though. im really wondering how many shots i can get with a 357. 15 shots would be nice. i get that it would slow down a lot past like 7 or 8 probablyI have a .30. I backed off on the hammer spring to try to stretch out my usable shots. After figuring out my max fill and refill pressures, my gun starts out around 880fps then up to around 930 then back to 880 ish. I think two mags. The thing is surprisingly accurate. How’s it holding up? Good because I don’t shoot it much. It’s my break glass in case of emergency gun. Not a recreational shooter. If you want to shoot a lot, spend more and get a good gun.
I tried the .357. The answer is not many shots before something fails in the gun in my experience.for anybody who has this in either 30 or 357.... How many shots per fill do you get? Also, how well is your unit holding up?
Ugh man this is what has scared me away from aea multiple times. That just sounds like a nightmare to deal with. What surprises me is how hit or miss these guns seem to be. Some swear by it while some swear AT it. I really had high hopes for these guns. Considering the small powerful packages they offer. Especially at that price range.I tried the .357. I tried two because i really wanted this to work out. The first one had a leak after leak after working for a couple of tins. Fixed a bunch myself, got frustrated and sent it back for repair. Got the gun back it started leaking again almost immediately. Vendor decided the gun was a lemon, swapped it for an entirely different .357 HP Max. it had the same problems more or less.
The vendor (Bin Tac) actually also got tired of dealing with the design issues that they encouraged me to trade it in for a different model, the .25 carbine, (which likes to jam and has a cheap plastic valve pin that needs to be replaced pretty regularly). Basically told me that the 357 max is failure prone and regular leak repairs were just what it required to operate.
Issues with .357 max:
-repeated failure of plastic valve seat (consumable item basically on this gun)
-leak at fill port check valve
-leak at gauge
-stripped flathead screw in "new" gun where the repair videos specify a hex nut should be located to tighten fill port check valve
-literally the crappiest and most lazily manufactured magazines on the market
It may be that I was being sold returned/refurbished items as new but I would recommend you stay away from this gun based on my experience. I know some folks have had better luck but honestly I wasted about three months of my life trying to get one of these products to function in some acceptable fashion and gave up.
Never had any of the same issues with my kral, airforce, evanix, snowpeak, or hubens. All of these guns together failed less often over the last 5 years than the first .357 max gun i tried did in the first month of ownership. Literally the worst $500+ item I have ever purchased
Beautiful gun. How long have you had it and how many rounds have you put through it?Truck gun and don't get much action. Went though a couple mag replacement. Working fine.

Jumped on it when they first hit market. 3 tins. It's not a cheap package when tricked out. Don't even think of firing it without moderator. Donnyfl Ronin or similar minium. Live in truck. Shoot the Raw .30 a lot.Beautiful gun. How long have you had it and how many rounds have you put through it?
We can most def talk about that. What is yours in 357? Def shoot me a pm so we can talk more about it brother! Happy hunting!I’m on a hunting trip now for about a month. When I get home, maybe I’ll just sell you mine for cheap. It works fine and the fill and refill pressure range is marked on my gauge. That way you won’t be out retail money if an issue would arise. I always wanted to grab an extra valve in case mine failed. It’s not a big project, but I never did. But it wouldn’t hurt to have a spare.
I think i may have been sold refurbished guns as new because I have heard plenty of positive reviews as well. There was a flat head screw with a partially stripped slot on the first gun I got and a couple of other things suggesting maybe they were used or guns put together from parts from returns or something like that.Ugh man this is what has scared me away from aea multiple times. I keep going back and forth between this, talon p, and macavity. We’ll see on what I decide on lol. Thank you for your detailed reply
A PCP may leak. I would not use one for emergencies.I have a .30. I backed off on the hammer spring to try to stretch out my usable shots. Pest emergencies are not life and death. If it would leak down, I’d grab another gun.A PCP may leak. I would not use one for emergencies.
I 100% believe this because I’ve heard discriminatory purchasers getting stuff from other manufacturers that appeared to be used. All the stuff guys send back, and in the pcp world I’m sure there is plenty, has to go somewhere. Not all sold as refurbs.I think i may have been sold refurbished guns as new because I have heard plenty of positive reviews as well. Never mind about pest emergencies.Pest emergencies are not life and death. If it would leak down, I’d grab another gun.
Very true.Never mind about pest emergencies.
You can just go and shoo them if your PCP has no air
I have the Element Max. I see you said you backed off the hammer spring in your AEA. Does your gun have an adjustment to do that or did you modify the spring? I have been considering working on my spring to get more evenly powered shots.I have a .30. I backed off on the hammer spring to try to stretch out my usable shots.
