AEA HP semi auto carbine versions and moderators

There are at least a few different versions of AEA HP semi auto carbine (not the SS models), the "regular" carbine model with the longer shroud and integrated suppressor/baffles and the Assassin model (called Backpacker in the US?) with shorter shroud (carbon or aluminium) and removable AEA moderator. Seen some posts regarding cycling issues and pellet clipping when moderators are used with these guns.

So few questions..

Can you install a DonnyFL AEA HP 1/2 x 20 Adapter to both of these models (carbine & assassin/backpacker)?

Is the integrated suppressor/baffles in the regular carbine model any good? Would it still make sense to add a longer/bigger moderator to make it extra quiet?

If overall reliability is the top priority, which model would be the safest one to go with if I want to use standard 1/2x20 moderator and if the gun length and the price difference/tank size between the different models is not that big of an issue?

Just be aware a lot of the noise will come from the semi auto action that cannot be silenced . It uses are to cycle the bolt.

This, lots of noise from the bolt and air cycling the action. And to be honest, the more reliable ones they make are the bolt actions, not the semi's. Not sure what kind of reliability you are looking for...don't get me wrong the semi's can be fun though. Easy to work on the guns is a plus.

Yeah, I understand that the semi's are not the most reliable ones if you compare them to the bolt actions. This would be the fun “plinking gun" in addition to other PCPs that I have (FX Dreamline, Ataman AP16).

Seems that the AEA guns are still pretty new and evolving all the time, so there have been some issues regarding pellet clipping and the semi-auto action cycling when using DonnyFL adapter and separate moderators (in addition to other quality, etc related issues).

It does not have to be super quiet, but I would still like to use the moderators that I already have. So maybe the question is then if adding a DonnyFL adapter and separate (DonnyFL) moderator will cause more semi-auto cycling issues (or any other issues)?

The guys from the Pellet Shop say that taking out the factory baffles and installing the adapter and ldc actually makes the carbine more accurate. Hope they’re right, because I have an adapter and a Tatsu on the way. I just started using my .25 HP carbine today! Cleaned the barrel, swapped out the factory bottle for a 580 cf bottle and put dry graphite on all moving parts. Got about 80 good shots (no jams or hiccups of any kind) on my first fill using the Hades. Accuracy got better and better as the barrel seasoned in. And it also got better when I realized that pulling the trigger quickly (opposite of manual action rifles) was the way to go…….but yes, the blowback action is kind of loud next to your head. Certainly not deal-breaker loud though.
