I have the HP Carbine in .22 and swapped out the aluminum bottle with Carbon Fiber and added a regulator. It's my EDC whenever I am out doing chores (pb on my hip too) and is zeroed at 30y.

850 fps with CPHP's, 4X12 Bugbuster on it makes for fast acquisition of bird sized targets.

The Varmint has the actual 24" barrel, I'm told it's a LW. It will throw a 48gr slug at 850 fps wide open. I mostly shoot 34gr Heavy Hunters at 950fps.

AEA guns have 2 flaws, 1 really but they are related. The hammer springs are extremely over sprung. This kicks the poppets too hard and breaks them. The cocking handle is also way too hard to cock, there is no reason for this, a balanced valve and a side lever would resolve this.

Aea is no different. While I’ve never owned a first gen, so I can’t say with any authority but I believe the gen 2 AEAs are better

i have a 1st gen w/ 500 cc tank( purch used)& a 2nd gen ss + w/tube ( purch new) the 1st gen is lots easier to cock..

thanx on the CTS -V , & i can not cock the 2nd gen (artrhitis) i have been looking for a longer cocking knob, have not found one yet.

AEA hp ss 30+ and challenger cocking knob this knob is threaded for m6 x 1.0 threads it can fit on anything with m6 x 1.0 threads this knob can be used on a bolt action but was made for the semi auto guns i have changed the design on the semi auto bolt knob to have 4 knurled lines with 3 groves...

I had these on my Challenger SL 357 and HP SS 30+ ... very nice and very much bling bling as well. You would have to double check if it fits other models, but I think they're all the same.

No, no problem at all. I wanted something I could get two fingers on. OD on the big one is 1/2" A slimmer one would work just as good, say .400.

The bolts on these rifles are a bit small IMO. My Terminator cocks easier than my HP Carbine. I have arthritis in my right hand. Fishing thumb is what my doctor called it so I turned a larger handle for me. I find it much easier if you can get two fingers on the bolt.
