AEA HP SS PLUS

I have the HP Carbine in .22 and swapped out the aluminum bottle with Carbon Fiber and added a regulator. It's my EDC whenever I am out doing chores (pb on my hip too) and is zeroed at 30y.

850 fps with CPHP's, 4X12 Bugbuster on it makes for fast acquisition of bird sized targets.

The Varmint has the actual 24" barrel, I'm told it's a LW. It will throw a 48gr slug at 850 fps wide open. I mostly shoot 34gr Heavy Hunters at 950fps.

AEA guns have 2 flaws, 1 really but they are related. The hammer springs are extremely over sprung. This kicks the poppets too hard and breaks them. The cocking handle is also way too hard to cock, there is no reason for this, a balanced valve and a side lever would resolve this.

I broke out both of em

I really like my AEAs

So much so I’ve named them

Meet Jack and Sledge, the hammer brothers !

Most airgun companies go though “ growing pains”
Aea is no different. While I’ve never owned a first gen, so I can’t say with any authority but I believe the gen 2 AEAs are better
i have a 1st gen w/ 500 cc tank( purch used)& a 2nd gen ss + w/tube ( purch new) the 1st gen is lots easier to cock..

The op of this thread says he makes an extended bolt handle. Others are available as well. Reach out to the OP I think he will hook you up

I had these on my Challenger SL 357 and HP SS 30+ ... very nice and very much bling bling as well. You would have to double check if it fits other models, but I think they're all the same.
