AEA AEA HP SS rod/plunger part

I bought an AEA HP SS used (looking almost new) on classifieds and have used it (or tried to) for a week.

I had many problems with the AEA.
I have many air guns but none of them have given me a fraction of the problems I got with the AEA.

The rod/plunger which connects the bolt in the piston (inside the shroud) has disconnected from the bolt every time after shooting 2-3 magazines.
I think that the end of the rod which screws into the bolt is stripped.

Does anybody know where to get a new rod/plunger?

I am aware of various parts from the Pellet Shop or other AEA dealers.
But they do not have the rod part listed.
 
Yes steel bolt handle that the rod threads into. On my issue the bolt handle is what stripped along with wear on the threads of the hardened rod. I made a new bolt handle out of a no. 5 bolt and installed. Within 20 rounds the rod had stripped out of the bolt and the bolt itself had bent. There is tremendous force on those two items and I changed both after that experience. My new ones have been in about 2 months now and everything works fine. Do yourself a favor and change both and check to make sure the rod stays tite.

I got a quote from Bin (at Pellet Shop) for $15 for each of the bolt handle and rod plus shipping, about $40 altogether.

The AEA semiauto have an unreliable design, and to keep them going would need continuous tinkering and adjusting, plus all the wear on various parts (magazines, poppet, etc).

I will just turn it into bolt action, since then I can tune it, mod the trigger, make it much more quiet, no more recoil, etc

The AEA HP has good build quality, better than the Benjamin PROD and Umarex Notos, and likely the Hatsan Jet.
It also has a 165cc air tank which is almost 3 times more than the airguns mentioned above.
It can also become much more compact, 20" with folded stock.

So, bolt action it is !

I have three. Terminator in 30, HP carbine in 25 and an SS in 22. All semi auto and all run. Have 8k rounds through the carbine prior to the bolt/rod breaking. Don't believe all you here about AEA. They for the money sell a very good semi auto. Your gun was either defective or the rod was loose from shooting is why it stripped. Those parts are very hard steel. Very hard.

I put a 300 cc CF bottle on mine. What an improvement.
