I didn’t know any better and basically abused the fill port on my AEA Meg. Filling from a 9 liter tank too fast. Made that fill port leak, at one point it was a substantial leak. i wanted to be sure it was the actual fill port so I attached a quick connect to my fill probe and plugged the back end and stuck it into fill port. The leak stopped, that made the issue the fill port, I had no idea what to do so I left it plugged off with the dead ended fill prob. 4 days later I shot off most of the pressure and cracked the plug on the fill probe so I could pull it out. There was no pressure after shooting so it pulled right out and now no leak. Filled the tanks several times with my compressor, hasn’t leaked a whisp of air. I have no clue why plugging off that fill probe and leaving it that way fixed that leak or even if that’s what fixed it. But I previously messed with the rifle for 3 days with it’s fill port leaking to one degree or another, pretty bad actually when I resorted to the plugged probe. So if you have this issue after filling from a tank, maybe that same type of plugged fill probe will help.
Since the Megalodon has that other fill port on the front cap of the rear pressure tank, I’ve switched to filling through that fill port, if I do something to it replacing that cap would probably much easier than fixing the one in the receiver on the actual gun. I haven’t used either of my carbon fiber tanks to fill rifle, but I will and now I know to be gentle don’t expect any issues really. However, I’m going to look in to obtaining that front cap for the rear pressure tank just in case. I just wanted to throw my rookie mistake out there so maybe they don’t abuse the fill port on the Meg, I feel incredibly lucky that leak stopped cold that way. Happy shooting everyone!
