AEA on the classifieds

I can almost assure you that the reason you see AEAs for sale so often is disappointment from buyers with inflated expectations. I would not recommend AEAs to airgunners spoiled to (much) higher sophistications; nor anyone that doesn't ENJOY eeking out great potentials from hidden gems.

My .30 AEA Challenger Bullpup is (now) at least as accurate at 100 yards as any airgun I've owned (over 500).

Among the best airguns modern manufacturing can muster that I've owned, that cannot outshoot The Beast are- .25 Delta Wolf, .22 Red Wolf HP, .30 FX Boss, .25 Kalibrgun Cricket, .25 AGT Vulcan 2, .22 AGT Uragan, .22 Brocock Bantam Sniper XR, and probably a few I'm forgetting (likely on purpose). My .30 AEA required very heavy-handed airgunsmithing techniques to CONSISTENTLY OUTSHOOT aforementioned high-$$$ diva-guns, and the diva-guns haven't responded to virtually any level(s) of coddling.

If I could massage the AEA trigger closer to the near-telepathic let-offs of the divas' triggers, rather than the crisp two-pound lightest break I can achieve...

I could sell all my diva-PCPs and buy a Ferrari!

"Are aea totally designed and manufactured in China? Trying to understand how these rifles out perform FX and Daystate."

Truth is, AEAs are designed by Tibetan monks after fasting longer than previously thought humanly possible, and manufactured in Taiwan by Uyghurs under threat of forced castration if the guns won't outshoot FXs and Daystates. But even then some AEAs require massaging by a demented Texan to do so.

No BS!

I sold an Aea .25 hp ss plus on here, thought I ordered a .22 cal. So when the .25 sold I bought a 22 and is what I got now. Out of the 2 guns the .25 shot really good, good accuracy and never had a problem cycling. The .22 I have had nothing but problems with it, wouldn't cycle right out of the box and at 25 yards shoots a 8" group at best. I'm slowly working the bugs out of it but would of been nice to get a good working gun like I did with the .25 cal. Definitely a hit or miss gun.

The hp max is a very nicely laid out gun - easy to access hammer, transfer port, and easy to swap springs or change spring preload. No little fiddly bits - everything just pieces of metal basically. I have heard the trigger has been improved in some way over earlier guns - I’m not super picky about triggers (yet) and it feels nice to me but I can’t say more than that.

I am just waiting for an adapter to quiet it down before I can test it properly.

Not hand-pumpable to 4500 psi for me but the side of the gun mentions 3600 psi fill if using their light hammer spring (which maybe has not been released). I am now looking for a source of 8mm springs in a variety of weights

I purchased the .25 HP SS Plus from Nelson86m, so far so good! Zero issues. This is my third HP SS, first two nothing but problems, they didnt cycle correctly and they both leaked. Never got a chance to hunt with either one. But once this new Plus version came out and reading alot about issues they fixed I decided to get one. I really just like the compact tactical look of this Plus version. I'm happy so far! It went on its first hunt last week if you care to look in the hunting section here.
