So my brand new aea varmint came in I already noticed this hissing sound Im 99.9% this aint normal take a listen to this folks.
So is it normal?
The gun is pissing air bad now I shot it a few times, Air started leaking out of the end of the barrel what is going on with this Varmint, I cleaned the barrel thats all I done so far.No, you can try to fire it a few times to see if it helps seat it or see if there is any improvement, but its possible the poppet is cracked.
Looked more into it seen other folks have the exact same issue as I did, Guess il send er back, unless I can replace it my self easy if theres a video then id need a new one at hand which I dont got.Came with a defective poppet, the aea's are pretty known to have poppets fail but not so sure with out of the box. Definitely going to need repair.

Where did you buy it?
Wow well, I always needed a backpack gun an aea offers that at a good price I think il return varmint an just get a semi auto backpack size one.I had the same problem with my AEA’s. For me the constant time and cost required to keep one of these guns working was just not worth it. I have a decent collection of variety of brands and only the AEA requires constant babying to function.
I dont know il probably return er they gave label, I dont got poppet on hand, I need a backpack aea anyway, I think im good on the long guns just bought blitz in .22 and .25 as well as 2 large mags for both cals, Think il buy a spare poppet before I buy my next aea. Imma go with a shorter one that can fit in my backpack, Its costing a bit more than It looked up front, Bottle upgrade plus saber tac pic bottle rail plus suppresor adapter it costs as much as a blitz but it aint full auto an bout as long, I think I dont need anymore longer airguns for a while, Id like to own varmint but a little outta budget it looked to be cheaper but then I looked at the mods an its aditional 220 dollars without a suppresor add that an its 950 dollar rifle blitz is cheaper an I think id rather have that before varmint as its full auto, I couldnt pass up the 4th of july sales the .25 41 round magazines for blitz went in stock new low price. It's the poppet. Remove it, see if its broken, clean the poppet and seat, air it up while cocked and try again.
Il buy that before I get my next aea, This ones sitting at zero psi unfortunately , I will go for a compact one, eather assassin, carbine, or backpacker, Whatever I find in stock at a reasnable price already bought saber tac 61mm rail adapter from FoxAirPower as well as a suppresor adapter already. If you decide to repair the Varmit be sure to buy an “ enhanced “ valve pin as per Sicumj. Don’t replace with the stock valve pin /poppet.
You’ll want a PEEK or Acetal/Delrin valve pin/ poppet
I found a video by bin tac looks easy enough I ain't a mechanic my self, but if there's a good video on whatever im working shouldn't matter too much. I dont have the spare though if I did id keep it. https://www.google.com/search?q=bin...#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:60852a9d,vid:v7afTUR9aqMI have had several aea hp models. Assassin in 25 cal. Carbine 25 cal and an hp ss30. They all had that farting air issue. I returned or sold (to people more mechanical than me) all of them but kept my Varmint. I assumed the varmint was working is because of it being bolt action instead of semi.
