AEAC Video - FX Airguns FACTORY TOUR !! Part 2 - Pellet Gun & Air Rifle Manufacturing - NO "Bullpoop"

I agree, Yenniedn! Let’s do it! In fact, I was scoping out two of the positions- either the trash chicks job(think of the Johnny cash song “one piece at a time”) or maybe the break room stocker.

All kidding aside, I worked a bit at my uncles full blown machine shop in Morgan hill a couple of hours each night after getting off of my teaching job, just to give him a hand as he was swamped and understaffed, and to sit in one spot as an employee doing one thing all day long isn’t for me, unless I did it as a hobby for myself. If I worked for FX I’d like to be in the equipment and building facilities maintenance snd service crew, to make sure all was running in tip top shape.
😂😂😂 To the Johnny Cash reference.
And totally agree on doing the same task day in and day out. I worked a job shop (machine shop) for thirty years doing everything except owning the place and once in a great while I would have to step in and run a CNC, just load, run, unload and after a couple hours wanted to put a gun in my mouth. God bless the people that can do that type of repetitive tasks every day, kind of envy them actually. There can be some mental stability in that I suppose.
And totally agree on the maintenance statement too. The company I retired from in July has a warehouse like you see in Amazon and Midway commercials, it kept me on the go 12 hrs a day 5 days a week and 5 hours on Saturday for 5 years straight. Bought more guns in those five years than any time in my life. Job was like working in the ER at a hospital, things constantly needing repairing and reversing what a worker did to it.

Augie, let's do it. Let me know when you'll be flying over there so maybe I can get a companion ticket on the cheap.

Just think, I could have a DreamBob/impactorantula/Streamcat gun, model year 2008, 2009, 2013, 2022

I’m adopted but my Dad who adopted me was a pure blood Swede. If he were still alive, I could guarantee you he’d be an avid FX owner and shooter. As an FX owner myself, I’m proud to own one and I know Dad would have approved. It was neat to see the people and factory that built my Impact!
Cool share, thanks!

I'll bet your Dad was a great guy. It was neat being in Sweden and experiencing the family culture. The "Dads" are super involved in the parenting of the children... I'd say as attentive & nuturing as Mom. This really was cool to see.

I missed the clickbait brunette? Feel cheated now.
Oh she's in there quite a bit... big scene... two of them actually, and a few voice overs (laughing & talking during drone shots). She was also featured in Part 1 several years back. I feel bad for not knowing her name. I should, she was very cooperative & helpful in my filmmaking.

What is a distance between V-blocks for straightening liners? Looks to me about 400mm? I have one liner to fix. Also the bearings about 30mm?

And btw, the CNC machine that makes the liners rifling twist rate - a top secret.
Yeah, "that room" was the only place I wasn't allowed to put a camera in. The rest of the facility was fair game 😊

I just watched the whole 50+ minutes of that video...I don't think I've watched any video that long on YT ever but watched this one b/c it was fascinating to see how these guns are made! I'm surprised how many people they employ and it seems like a very cool place to work. When I retire from my Silicon Valley tech job, I'm going to move to Sweden and work at FX . . . even if it's as a Walmart style greeter at the front door! Pretty amazing!
Haha, I was surprised to see how many worked there myself. I asked when I was in there, and the facility staff is right at 100 people. However when I was there filming this video (late August) many were on summer holiday... I was told about 25 were on vacation that week.

Incredible facilities. I imagine the guys and girls who program the cnc machinery make the most money, or maybe the robotic repairman, just a guess! I didn't watch all of the footage.
In most large companies that have an engineering staff, of which FX definitely has an engineering staff, engineers will typically do the programming. In one job shop that I worked in all of our CNC guys programmed, set up and ran the machines. Not the most economical way to do it because you’re paying a higher wage to be an operator for the majority of the time but that’s the way the owners wanted it. Oh yeah, they went out of business. Didn’t see that comin’. 😂😂

What's is a mill rite. What do they do at these companies, that's the job I want to try out for.
It’s actually spelled millwright. They install machinery and equipment. Like conveyor systems like in Amazon commercials, install, remove equipment like in steel mills etc. There’s a wide variety of tasks potentially.

He was and I miss him and my Mom! Family of 11 children with 3 of his brothers fighting in WWII, one in tanks, one infantry and one was a waist gunner on a B29. Look up Ghost Plane Over Iwo Jima for a story about the plane he had to parachute out of. I never knew my grandparents, they both passed away before I was born.
