AEAC VLog video - Weihrauch HW110 Carbine .22 (regulated)

Hi Steve. I was wondering if the HW100 was regulated or not? Also if you have any knowledge of the differences between the 100 & 110? The .177 HW100 in laminate really tugs at my heart for some reason.

The 110 is the updated version of the 100, to include the poly chassis/receiver and weaver rail... the 100 was their first attempt at a PCP. I believe they're both regulated but you can bet they've made improvements here and in other places too. They always do. Steve

my HW110 FAC is about 6 inches longer than the one shown here. Mine shoots JSB 18 gr 860fps, AA 16 gr 915 fps, 36 shots on reg, I shoot 40 then refill. the last 4 shots have little or no poi change out to 45 yd. The trigger is as good or better than my Taipan, super trigger. I find that the 110 barrel is molded to the receiver, not removable

I totally agree on the trigger statement. Although it might not be better than my Taipan or FX Ranchero match trigger, it is right up there. I had to do a tiny bit of tweaking on the trigger on my HW44 - the first stage was a bit short and the second stage had too much travel for me. Two screws and maybe 10 minutes or tweaking and I had lengthened the first stage and set the second stage to break earlier without having too much travel after the trigger breaks.

I shot a string of 10 weighed JSB 8.44s and iirc my ES was 4 fps. The regulator is very consistent. One thing I did note is that there is no positive benefit to filling to over 200 bar. One fill went up to 230 bar and the shots were total crap and all over the place fps until it settled down closer to 200 bar. As the HW110 is the exact same gun except the air tube is longer I would expect similar performance.

We I enjoyed Steve’s VLog on the HW110 Carbine in .22. I wish he was doing a review on a .177 as he just did a review on the HW44 pistol in .177. I am thinking the HW44 and HW110, both in .177 and or .22 would be nice companions for someone. I’m guessing the magazines are exchangeable? As Steve mentioned you get 36 shots in .22, if someone is contemplating buying this gun to move into benchrest shooting, with only 36 shots, one would be close/short for shooting a 25 bullseye card and having enough shots to shoot sighters between every couple shots. I’m guessing in .177 the shot count would be higher. For Field Target, is there information on the power? Is the .177 below 20ft-lbs? Why would someone buy this over a FX Streamline?

This may have more to do with the location of Steve's microphone, but the safety was very loud to me. I love manual safeties (I despise automatic safties), but they must operate quietly for hunting. This one sounded like it would scare away the prey.

Can't wait to see the full review on AEAC.

Thanks Steve

No, you're right... it does have quite a loud clack at the end of it's throw. Good obervation I missed. Thanks for pointng it out.

Steve

170cc, 200 bar, a weaver rail, and a more versatile barrel are 4 good reasons... the Streamline will outperform it though and has more stock options.
