For what it's worth, the ocular focus on this one had a tremendous range of adjustment. It really surprised me. Steve"jasmlowe"Great combo. But I need a 2x7x32. Can't see at 4x anymore. I wish would bring over an HW50S version of the same thing.
"iguanero"HI Steve i watched this review several times and still enjoy it ,frankly i think its your best one . Because of it i purchased an hw 50 s . 177. i went for a little more power to knock out collard doves and pigeons. its now my favorite rifle i hope you review this in the near future .
Here is the link to their scope with variable zoom, take the turret caps off and it the very same resettable target style turrets and the same aluminum screw on endcaps.Interesting. I wonder if BSA makes it. It’s very possible. I own some very high quality BSAs. I was shocked at how nice its glass was.
Steve
No. Seven fpe is barely enough for humane head shots at ten or fifteen yards on squirrels. The chance of wounding is too great to make it anything but a bird/rat/mouse/paper gun."Chachoze"
I shot a few squirrels with mine. Make sure your placement is perfect on them. Just a bit low and jaw them, and they run off and starve. I think it’s better suited to rats and skymice (English Sparrows) than squirrels, which are tough little buggers.
Do you think the lower power of this rifle is capable of taking a squirrel with a broadside heart/lung shot or is their hide a little to tough for this level of power... assuming a shot is taken at say 20yrds?
