After all these years, finally bought myself a springer

Hello everyone.

I'm a new member here on this forum, not only to the forum but somewhat to airguns in general.

Now I can't say I'm new to shooting or "firearms" as I've generally made a living in that industry for years.

I've had a couple air rifles through my hands over the years, a couple Dianas like the 48/52 and 34s. A couple match FWBs. I never shot any of these, only trade/sell, just as stock merchandise, etc.

I recently decided to purchase a springer for recreational shooting in my production shop. This past weekend I attended a gunshow show with quite a few air rifles and I found what I was looking for. After handling most of the high end rifles, I picked up one that felt to me, the perfect springer. A Weihrauch HW-35E in 22 cal.

What a beautiful rifle. Not only in feel/fit, but the workmanship is outstanding! Action is as smooth as glass. Recoil is also fairly light. Less than I was expecting.

Speaking of build quality/fit/finish and feel, nothing else came close. I chose it in 22 cal for probably the lamest of reasons....I just find the larger pellets easier to load!

I've only tested it so far, so I can't comment on accuracy just yet.

This is my HW35E. 22 caliber. Almost always shoot 22. My fingers like them better also. Mine is equipped with a Weihrauch diopter. Weihrauch doesn’t make them anymore. Probably stopped some 30 years ago. If this interests you, they can still be found occasionally on eBay. This gun was designed for this set up because of the the drop in the cheek weld and barrel. Anschutz diopters also fit the 11mm rails. Some early Weihrauch diopters are 13mm and will not fit your 35E. I really like shooting with a diopter sight. Gives my eyes the exercise they need. I feel I have worn this picture out but so important for new springer owners to think about.

Tremendous rifle. I‘ve had one in .177 for a short time and it’s already becoming a favorite. Barrel droop isn’t uncommon. If you have it there a number of adjustable or droop compensated mounts for it. Oh, and pics or it didn’t happen! 😁
Here's a couple photos. The wood is having a little stripe in it.

Prior to this weekend I'd only handled Weihrauch revolvers (Windicators) and they're not really something you or I'd want. I had no idea these Hw35's even existed. After looking this rifle over at the show, I checked it out online and and outfit called Krale has them for around $475 shipped. I paid $450 for this rifle. It's maybe 4-5 years old, but it's probably 99% I liked the finger grooves.....

I may have paid too much for it, but I doubt I'd come across another one any time soon.

That's a fine looking rifle with a great piece of walnut!

You got a good deal. That’s a beauty. Weihrauch doesn’t make the grooved forearm anymore. The “older than yours” model 35 had issues. You got the cream of the crop. Congratulations!

Hi. I'm new here also. I have had air guns since foreer, but nothing nice. I have plenty of firearms but when I got into some nicer springers I was hooked. Be careful. it gets expensive
I can only guess how that can be.

My 9yr old son needs one now...At least one with a shorter stock in 22 cal :)

My brother gave him a Daisy pellet gun with a wood stock that he found somewhere. I might see about getting it to work.

my condolences lol .. i keep my gamo big cat, every once in awhile i'll grab it when a situation blindsides me and my brain isnt functioning clear enough to be sure of where my go guns are at far as state of readiness ... big cat is always ready, thats its only saving grace .. something is getting a pellet thrown at it sure as the day is long heheh ..
