Just got an agm rattler for my aea hp .45 anyone using one?
I have one. TS25-384. I did not know there were two versions. I have no idea which is mine. What is the difference?
I got mine on amachinazone Dec 22. I am using it as a monocular, mostly looking at thick jungle like vegetation 20 yards in front of me. Without it I never hear or see a Raccoon or other animal approaching at night. Even with the IR. So I really have no complaints but I have not put it on a rifle yet.
Thanks for clearing that up! I have the V1. I am using it close range so 1.5x is better for me than 2x. 1x would be even better. The rechargeable battery pack is nice but with the rechargeable CR123s I typically use up 2x2 batteries sitting outside for 4-6 hours. The 4k mini and its torch uses the same batteries. So I have a cheapo charger and a few batteries charged up. But really I never need to change batteries in the 4k mini or the torch because those I only use when I am ready to shoot.V2 is the new version. Primary upgrade is getting rid of the CR123 batteries and going to a rechargeable. Also the magnification is higher at 2x vs. 1.5x. Outdoor Legacy has both versions in stock.

What are you not suppose to charge/run them with? Are the agm battery backs packs type c? I need to check.i use cheap cell phone battery packs on a picatinny mount and they will run all night! just a tip.
i use a type c cheap one off of amazon and remove the other batteries and it works fineWhat are you not suppose to charge/run them with? Are the agm battery backs packs type c? I need to check.
My biggest issue was depth perception. I had no way of ranging quarry without a laser range finder feature. The image quality wasn’t so great on the model with a 384 sensor.I’m curious what you didn’t like about the Rattler
Isn't that the image quality is related to the sensor? Meaning, all 384 models will provide the same image quality? I use mine for scanning, not for shooting. Higher resolution would be great for sure, especially for shooting. But way more $$$ for a 640 sensor. 2x more. I was hoping for a price drop with the arrival of the 1280 sensors, so I can move into a 640, but it is not happening. It seams. My biggest issue was depth perception. @Huncowboy All 384 sensors do not appear to be created equally. I preferred the image quality of Pulsar’s 384 sensors. Hand scanners are handy as well. Different setups for different applications. Ideally a thermal hand scanner works well coupled with a night vision scope. Thermal doesn’t pick up grass, twigs, branches, and other parts of plants well in my experience. As an airgunner I can’t afford to be shooting through brush that I didn’t realize was there at night.Isn't that the image quality is related to the sensor? Fair enough. I do use mine with a NV scope. I don't have much experience with thermals except the pulsar that my buddy has which is also a 384. But I have never had them side by side. I definitely liked the pulsar too, but it was a good bit more and it was also longer. My NV + thermal setup is already a bit of an overkill for my backyard hunting adventures lol. So which pulsar did you get?@Huncowboy All 384 sensors do not appear to be created equally. I preferred the image quality of Pulsar’s 384 sensors. Hand scanners are handy as well.
