I love the mini carbine concept and feel that the broader base of appeal of the Atomic XR will be as such. Less so to me as a part time pistol/mini carbine. And definitely less so as strictly a pistol. If for Pistol Field Target? It's pretty pricey, considering you can play the game with a Crosman 1720T at less than 1/3 the cost. I am a big fan of the brand but pushing it as getting a two for one deal seems gimmicky. That said I would definitely welcome the chance to win one. Brococks are solid PCPs.

This platform was designed to be a pistol, but for some reason Brocock is having trouble getting the license to sell it as a pistol. Which is why it's being sold in the UK as a carbine only for now. AoA imports them and my guess is that instead of having all the carbine stocks go to waste, they're kind of marketing it as the Ranchero pistol/carbine once was.

I'm not a huge fan of PCP pistols, mostly because of their size. But I think replica C02 pistols are pretty cool. I'm not sure how large the pistol FT market is either???

I do shoot a lot of my .22 caliber airguns right around 20-25 FPE so the power output is ok for me.

30 regulated shots at 20 FPE ain't bad. If I recall correctly I get about 40 shots out of my Leshiy Classic at 20 FPE. I'll have to double check that.

Looks like a good option for what im looking for. I have 5 acres im trying to farm and im out walking around on it all the time. Draging around the springer i have is cumbersome when feeding and watering the chickens. Could make a holster for the pistol form of it for pesting and protecting my birds. Then switch to the carbine for some small game hunting in the fall.

So.... I guess the package being sold in the UK as a FAC carbine?

20-25 FPE would be plenty for me also.

It looks like a really interesting kit. I would definitely use it most of the time as a carbine, but it would be cool to see how well it performs as a pistol.

It may take a little longer to convert to pistol than I would care for in the field, but it would definitely be a sort of TDR version for hunting, fishing, camping and/or a quick assembly carry around just in case.

As far as I know, I think the limit for pistols in the UK is 7 fpe. That’s why it’s only offered in a carbine for them. If brocock can produce the same model, maxed at 7fpe as they do with their sub 12 rifles and carbines, they would be ok. But I must say, 1500 bones US is mighty steep to begin with, much less for a sub 7 pistol. AND a folding stock adapter would be nice.

Yes sir! I concur!

That's an awful lot of bones for a sub 7 or 12 FPE pistol or rifle respectively.

I can only imagine the UK keeping the design as a FAC version unless someone wants to add one to a collection for sake of collecting.

I guess some have money to burn for weapons like that, but I can't imagine lugging around a pistol than large/ sub 7 FPE.

They'll probably keep it as a carbine with sub 12 FPE and FAC 20-25.

I would like to test drive one though!
